*swoops in* My, it's been so long since I've been here... you can all blame Fenris for that.

The difference is that Valen and Fenris seem to play specific roles in my dreams. Valen is my conscience (Because... we're the same alignment I guess?), Fenris is my libido (as he always flirts with me in my dreams) and Deekin...well, he didn't actually appear in my dreams, but there was one where a Red Dragon thought that I was sheltering Deekin because he wanted Deekin for some reason and was pissed.

Well. Damn. Whenever characters show up in my dreams, we kinda just sit back and chit-chat about life (I'm boring). Although I did have a random one where I was friends with Anakin Skywalker pre-Palpatine (or at least, I thought), and then Palpatine showed up and started electrocuting him (this was when I got confused), so I ran off for help and found two of my real life friends, who were interrogating Fenris, Aveline, Carver and Varric on if they liked each other while Valen was drinking a giant frappuccino from a Starbucks cup in the background with Deekin on his shoulders playing the lute. And then Anakin showed up with one of those giant rainbow lollipops and joined my friends in their interrogation.

Yeah. That's it. I'm crazy.

I dream about game characters fairly often, but they tend to be vague and smut-centric. I am a simple creature.

I think this thread is a testament to the wonderful writing that went into Valen. I think I have played HOTU more than any other game ever- I can't even begin to estimate how many times I have played this game.

I remember Valen being that HotU hench (both of which I totally despised), is this the same as Aribeth was to us males? Coz she was hot.... I never figured Valen was viewed like this by the ladies.

But if u like horns, why not go 'the extra mile' and start a Mephistopholes thread? I dont think Valen can compete with that, or can he?

ha ha , But big M has a tail too. And a trident. Plus he is as hot as hell... but who are Casavir, Bishop and Gann? Never heard of them in Nwn...

EDIT: are they in NWN 2? Coz I cannot play it, so I wouldnt know.

There's also the fact that he manipulated his last girlfriend and shoved her in a block of ice or something for thousands of years. Not exactly marriage material, though it'd be nice if you could True Name him into being faithful or something. Then there's the... size issue.

And yes, those three are in NWN2.

So I caved and got NWN again. Would have gotten 2 too, but World of Warcraft was all like 'Memmory nom nom' I love it. Keep replaying just for different diolog paths... Stabbed my heart a few times to see some rejection diolog, and now I'm left wanting more. Are there any good valen mods out there? I got the diolog fix linked in like, the first few pages. (future convo happened, not the mimic one D:) and I'm not looking forward to playing the OC and first exp without the tiefling. (I tried OC at first, but flew to HotU after like, 2 level ups because lowbies aren't any fun)

I obviously did not read 47+ pages about this, hm, noble subject, but if you *really* wanna have some kisses with henchies and some gift giving, there is a way: install Old Beardsman Hench System, create a character that is like you want him to be and have him saved in the vault. Using the OHS summon system,, you can have him by your side and flirt with him (provided you are female). You have to learn how the system works to make most of it but I honestly cannot play any NWN without some such sys, that more or less allows me to have party members that I like to have around.

EDIT: I have no idea why , but I just ran a test with my male wizard who has a female assassin as companion, and that flirting option is not there. It did happen with some of my characters more than once however... I cannot explain.

It's just not the same if you create your own LI though. The magic is gone. :3 I might still try and create my own characters from a story I tried (and sorta gave up on cause I'm lazy) to write though. Ofc I'd need to find some knowledge first if it requires any, which it obviously will.

Well, I'm currently creating a module with 2 LIs: two men and two women, with two Bi options, but I wouldn't romance them myself unless I needed to as a means of testing it out.

Lol I just had a dream with carth, valen, deekin, and that robot in Kotor that called you a flesh bag, and we were on a quest to update their graphics :x I woke up before we crossed the desert of video game advancement tho.

After talking about playing evil in RPGs, it made me wonder. Assuming you are playing lawful evil (and keep your promises), could you work this romance with an evil PC? Again, assuming you aren't pointlessly rude or betray the Seer.

Imo "evil" doesn't necessarily mean "cannot care about a single living thing besides yourself." Sure, you care for yourself/your wants more than anything else...but I see no reason why a lawful evil character couldn't have some sense of loyalty, or even love (in that limited capacity of putting themselves first) and not betray the Seer to not lose Valen. (You don't break your promises as a lawful character, remember.)

I think I just talked myself into an attempt, lol.
