I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and having my only alteration to the mod be importing the .erf for the flirtpack. I just tried a new chapter 2 game and got Valen into my party. I tried talking to him, and I still don't see any difference. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong =<

Let me know if that pops up his flirt dialogue file.

When I installed the erf files, this is what I did. I pulled the .nwm files for chapters 2 and 3, renamed them .mod and put them in the modules folder. I pulled them into the toolset and imported the erf files. Then I saved. But instead of keeping them as .mod, I renamed them .nwm and put them back in the nwm folder. I made copies of all the original campaign modules and have them safe on a separate hard drive in case. I don't *think* that procedure should have a different effect than the instructions in the readme.
Just to make sure, I tried starting a fresh chapter 2 game while it was a .mod file, by going through "other modules" in the menu, as well.
All the results are the same. I can access the dialogues using the dm_runscript aud_startflirts command, but there's no option to do it through his regular dialogue trees. I dunno what's missing or if my computer somehow borked the files when downloading them =/

Edit: I've sent you the mod files in a PM over at petals and thorns. Try those out.

It's new content based around the concept of the Baldur's Gate 2 NPC Flirt Packs. The only fix that's currently in with it is the Deity talk, so you won't need that if you're downloading the flirtpack. I guess that makes it technically both?
Question: will this play nice with the Chapter 3 romance fix? (the stage 6 missing baby talk)

A post about Deekin had me looking at youtube and remembering Valen. I can't remember if he was the first or second romance I played in a game (Anomen might have beaten him to it), but he's still one of my all-time game romance favorites. Horns and tail, smexy voice, a hot temperament but still sweet. I hope BW bring back his VA in more games.

Valen was the first romance I'd played through in a game, and the beauty of it for me was that I didn't know there were romances in NWN, so my character just stumbled into it. It made it all the sweeter finding out that all of those little hints in the Ch. 2 conversations actually turned into something in Ch. 3.
In case anybody else still checks on this thread, has there been any new art/fanfic about the tiefling lately?

I know this thread has been "dead" for awhile now, but I really need your help. I adore Valen (and Neverwinter Nights!) and I REALLY want to try this flirt pack, but I'm having trouble. It keeps mentioning an .erf file to place into the folder, but I can't find it at all when I download from the Nexus Mods Community. All I can find are the two mod folders for Chapters 2 & 3 and that of course doesn't do anything. I would greatly appreciate any help or advice that can be offered. I really enjoyed playing through his romance (I only really play HOTU anymore - for Deeks & Valen!) and somehow, deep down, I always felt there could've been a bit more.
Also - it was interesting to find out that Valen was inspiration for Fenris! *swoons* ![]()
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

I haven't tried the flirt pack myself (maybe for my next HotU runthrough), but if I remember correctly the flirt pack's author used to post in here. You could try finding their posts and sending a private message. Unfortunately, this thread doesn't get the traffic it used to.
Good luck!

In case anyone is looking for the Valen Flirtpack, I migrated it to the new vault here....
http://neverwinterva...valen-flirtpack
I have no experience with this other than downloading it and migrating it to the new vault as most of my HOTU runs are with my elvan rogue and while this character is a bit of a girly man with a strength of 10 and wearing cloth "armor," he's still not nearly feminine enough for Valen to consider as anything other than bestest best friends.
There is never ever a Girdle of Femininity/Masculinity around when you actually need it.

Now that I have Valen in my party, he often goes to doors or chests that aren't really locked or anything, but stands besides them, a clicking sound is heard and Valen says "It's done. It's done. It'sdoneit'sdoneit'sdone!" like some techno song! He never stops doing it until you order him to do something else. But sometimes you can see him just turn around 180° and dash back to his favourite door and "itsdoneitsdoneitsdoneitsdone".

*casts revive thread*. It's been a gazillion years in the writing, and quite possibly the readers have all died by now/been turned into basilisks/turned to the dark side/been transported into the Fade but I've finally finished my ridiculously long fanfic, Calling of the Blood. I've posted up the final two chapters now, 46 and 47.

As long as this thread has life, so too does the game Neverwinter Nights. This might be the most epic topic thread in the history of discussion forums. On a side note, I have never once used Valen in all the times I have played Hordes of the Underdark.

You should give him a try. Even if you don't care about the romance, he is very effective with his heavy flail.

I probably should, just for the sake of completion, but Nathyrra is just so freaking cool to have around even though she doesn't do much. I usually like to use heavy hitters, so his role is often taken by my own PC, so I bring along some combination of Deekin, Nathyrra and later, Aribeth.

To be honest, I had always soloed HotU until I played an archer and decided I needed a henchman. My archer was female and Valen was very useful, and the romance was a nice bonus.
Maybe the next time I play a solo-capable character, I'll give Nathyrra a try for the first time.

She is mostly just arm candy. Damn nice looking drow arm candy though. She will spend a lot of time literally standing there watching you get your ass kicked doing nothing. Again, lucky she is good looking and cool enough to get away with it.
Speaking of henchman stuff I've never done despite how long I've been playing this game. I have also never used one of the OC henchmen in HotU. I'm using Sharwyn right now to be the beauty to my barbarian/eventual weaponmaster beast, so maybe that relationship will have to carry over when I take him into HotU. He also uses a heavy flail, so he and Valen can be the Bash Brothers in Chapter 2.

You are planning to take a character from the OC into HotU? HotU was designed for the hero from SoU, not the OC. If you play HotU with the character from SoU, the NPCs will recognize you. The character from the OC would not be recognized, and would have a level too high, making the game too easy. You should design a 40-level character, and play him/her in SoU, then a bridge module like The Elder Scrolls (this step is optional, but fun), the HotU, and then the Sands of Fate series to get all the way to level 40.
I can also recommend that you follow the OC with the Aribeth's Redemption series, which will bring you to about the same level as HotU. There is plenty of action, but it is a love story between your character and Aribeth, so you need to like Aribeth, be male (your character), and the closer to Lawful Good the better. I've played it with a Chaotic Good character and it worked fine.
As long as I'm recommending stuff: The Aielund Saga is a must-play. It is designed for a level 1 character, and it will bring you to about level 36.
All of these can be found in The Neverwinter Vault.

I frankly like the OC a little better than SoU and with the OC henchmen and the resolution to Aribeth's story, there is just as much reason to consider it a continuation of the OC as of SoU. Furthermore, the necessity of community made bridge modules from SoU to HofU admits an imperfect transition into a sequel anyway. In the words of every bratty teenager ever on Maury Povich, "I DO WHAT I WANT!!!" Lol.
Actually, all those modules sound pretty good, so thanks for the recommendations. I have to remember how to download modules from the Vault. It was always a confusing process for me anyway, even when I was doing it.

It is officialy assumed that SoU is continued in HotU, while OC being standalone. See officail bridge module contest by Bioware.
