I see ME2 is on Steam today for $10 and I am tempted to get it. I already have ME2 for the Xbox and all the DLC purchased on the XBox. If I get the PC version will I have to re-purchase all of the DLC I bought for the Xbox or will Cerberus Network let me download the PC version?

I have the PC version and all of my DLC says XBox/PC. I think it works on both. Send an email to EA tech support from the EA store site to make sure.

Most doesn't transfer over. Anything that does will already be listed here as available for PC (Profile -> Your registered game promotions.) Buying on Steam will get you the Cerberus content like Zaeed for PC, of course. But stuff like Kasumi, Shadow Broker etc. does not transfer.

When looking at my "registered game promotions" I see all the DLC I got on my Xbox. There is also a More Info link and when I click on the Shadow Broker one this message pops up:

"Your promotional code included an unlock for both PC and Xbox 360 platforms. To access your content on the Xbox 360, please ensure you activate Cerberus in-game using the same account you used while redeeming this code on the social website. Once you have done this, your content will be available for download from Xbox LIVE via the in-game store."

The bolded statement leads me to believe that I should be able to download the PC version when I purchase ME2 for PC.

I'm wondering about the same thing. I have bought almost all DLC for the Xbox360. Under my "registered game promotions" it says "Xbox 360" besides all the content. The Dr. Pepper promotion is listed twice (Xbox and a separate entry with download link for PC). What makes me wonder is the message that Ifandbut01 already posted. This pops up for every DLC in the list so how exactly does it work for the PC version then?

I just purchased it for the PC. If nothing else I'll be able to play the base game in 3D. Once it is installed and everything I'll post here if I have access to the DLC or not.

Yes please, that would be great. Maybe you can access the DLC from within the game when you log in with the same EMail/Account as here like you do with the Xbox version which then let's you download the content ingame. I'm really confused why there is no download link under the "registered game promotions" and it only says "Xbox 360" but then again it states that the unlock is for both PC and Xbox. I really don't understand why they have to make things so damn complicated all the time :(

Generally, free DLC (like Dr Pepper stuff, pre-order & collector armors) is cross platform, and paid DLC (including Cerberus Network) is not.

Ugah. The download rate is so slow. It keeps bouncing between 100k/s to 800k/s. Been going for almost 4 hrs and only half way done.

I am very interested to find out if the DLC transfers over as well. I have played through the game on Xbox 360 and have purchased almost all of the DLC. The $10 for a copy of the game on Steam is extremely tempting but not getting the DLC would be a deal breaker for me.

If the DLC does transfer then I would likely end up buying the remaining DLC that I don't own just so I can have it all but if it doesn't transfer then I don't think I will get it for PC. If I have it without the DLC I will be too tempted to buy a few of the DLC packs again and spend another $20-30 that I really don't want to spend on the same game twice.

Just came here from a Steam forum thread with the same question, lol.

I've already built my rig, am using it right now as a matter of fact, and I'm just as curious about whether I'm going to lose, what, 20 bucks of content?

Steam's current ETA bounces between 1 and 2 hrs. I'm forcing myself to stay awake to see if this works so you guys will know either way.

I can't seem to find an option to peruse the Cerberus Network offerings in-game.

I am in the same boat, I just purchased ME2 from Steam and plan on hocking off my 360 version.

Sadly, there doesn't seem to be anyway for 360 users to transfer they're DLC to the PC. Sure, Zaeed works, but there is no way to seemingly download the others. It is really depressing.

I'm currently looking into EA support. I bought 2 versions of their same game, the least they could do is transfer the DLC (which it is clearly possible and allowed, as Ifandbut01 has posted).

OK, I got the game installed and running.

Bad news. I registered my new Cerberus Network code and now I have double entries on my registered game promotions page, one network entry for Xbox and a new one for PC/Mac. It does not appear that there is a way for me to download the content.

I am going to attempt to go through the support channels and see what can be done. The information on the game promotions page is misleading at best. I hope they will be able to give me access to the DLC but the Steam sale ends in 9hrs and I think I'll be lucky to hear anything by Monday with the holiday.

At least it was only $10.

Well the download is not the problem. I have all the DLC for PC downloaded from the official EA site by finding the links myself. But does it work is the question. Apparently it doesn't so I guess EA/Bioware has to unlock/transfer it because it clearly states in the info section of the purchased 360 content that it works on both platforms (the "Your promotional code included an unlock for both PC and Xbox 360 platforms." part). And if I'm willing to buy the game twice (maybe even a third time if I also get the PS3 version for throphies) the least that they can do is unlock the DLC for 360 and PC as as stated in the information popup.

Hope that helps. (oh and also i got the digital deluxe version for the pc and now it seems i can get the collectors armour and incisor rifle for my 360 version too which i will check later)

Did you talk with them on the phone or via the live chat? If it was on the phone, can you post the phone number? I did not see it in the "contact us" section of support.

I am wondering, I already have and played through the 360 version.

Now when I am going to play the steam version, do I need to use the new Cerberus key? shouldn´t it be enough to login to my EA account?

Nope.

That's all free DLC that came with the Cerberus Network or was acquired by entering a promo code.

Everyone here is curious about paid DLC (IE stuff you buy through the Microsoft Store).

Ok, I used the chat and got a code for Shadow Broker and Kasumi. The Kasumi code is not working currently but I was told to wait a while and try again. I'm still trying to get a code for Overlord however.

I'm dealing with the same issue. Thank you for posting this. I contacted help through the live chat... at first they said purchases could not be transfered between consoles, but I posted that their info. says that "Your promotional code included an unlock for BOTH PC and Xbox 360 platforms." I also forwarded this post constantly since apprantly Ifandbut01 and Anfax got their problems solved.

They forwarded an e-mail to the senior member and said they would contact me as soon as possible. Hope to hear good news

Firstly just would like to say thanks as this is quite the informative thread that convinced me to re-buy mass effect for the PC as well :D

Second, I see that contacting customer support is the way to go here yet I have searched bioware's website quite a bit and have not found the right contact information. Do I have to contact EA instead or am I just not seeing bioware's contact email? I hope it's not EA as they have never had a great track record with customer service (not for me anyway). Thank you all in advance.

Scratch that last post by me, I found it, turns out I'm somewhat blind to see the big "Help" section at the bottom of this forum lol.

Sent an email to the support people clearly stating my issue with the DLC and how it is specifically stated that the DLC is available for both versions. I'm still awaiting the reply, but I expect it to say they are not interchangeable, I shall post the results of my endeavor here afterwards.

Any news yet? Currently waiting to see results before I consider downloading Kasumi/Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker again... (gonna hurt my already feeble wallet).
