Do you like DA: Origins adult content? Does anyone have ideas for such content? What kind of adult content you are using for your game? What would you like to see?

I don't think the game was made for perverts to drool on adult content, and it would surely lose all quality if it pursued that road... The adult scenes are more like simbolic, and the romance is what actually matters, because it influences the story.



For me they are just fine (and would be just fine as well if there wasn't any)... And the romance options and consequences could be a bit more explored (with the DAO setting in mind and not 21st century minded characters)

I'm kind of indifferent. I'd have been fine with allusions to sexual content only (IE, "Let's go to bed." <fade to black>). I'm not offended by things like the Better Sex Scenes mod, which I actually use for the simple fact that sex in granny panties is dumb.



If you're gonna show it, then just show it. Or don't have sex scenes at all, imo. I honestly don't consider the vanilla stuff very "adult."

I guess I am both for and against such content, depending upon what is meant by designed for adults.

I enjoyed the rather difficult choices that DAO had to offer along the way, and I found such content to be adult.

I found the romances that I exprerienced to be witty, humorous, and insightful, but did not see the need to include sexual acts, even as vague as the ones depicted. Romance and interpersonal relationships are mature adult themes; sex as proved by HS locker rooms gossip is not.

Personally, I saw little need for the references of beastiality, sexual misconduct, and found the so-called sexual humor to be often immature; not adult. But was both moved and intrigued by the adult sexual discussions including rape, virginity, prostitution, etc, esp when concerning the Darkspawn.

Guess I am a fade to black sort of player....

I think romance is good for roleplaying purposes, it gives your character more personality and increases your knowledge of other characters too. The sentiments behind this "adult" content is more important than the "adult" content itself. Sex scenes for the sake of sex scenes completely misses the point of why they are there if you ask me.

Does Dragon Age have adult content? Unless you mean the silly excessive bloodsplatter, which I have disabled, I haven't come across anything even remotely "adult".

i guess im pretty indifferent about this. i myself use better sex scenes but i would be fine if it didnt have any at all. but what bothers me is some of the design where it looks like they put something there just for the sake of covering up so ill use those type of mods but im against it in the aspect of nude just to be nude or overly lack of clothing just looks tacky to me... just my opinion

I would rather redo the cut scenes. Repositioning camera angles and character poses, maybe some light changes (and get rid of those under wears) , to make them look more nude art. Full frontal covered with that strange piece of cloth without a single hint of male erection in the midst of a sex scene looks just ridiculous to me.



But such sex scenes aren't really necessary in the first place. The romance dialogs would have been enough for me.

Nobody is required to have sex with anyone. If you want sex, you can have it. and watch the scenes. If not, you can easily avoid them.

I have the "better sex scenes", and I find that having realistic sex in the game enhances realism and enjoyment.



BUT, I think that needs to be truly for adults only. There is nothing that I can see other than the author's disclaimer stopping kids from downloading that mod. I am a believer in sheltering minors from stuff that they might not be ready to see, so I certainly don't think that the official version of the game needs to have anything R or X rated in it, even if the game rating is M or 18+, because those game ratings are mostly for parents to look at, and I don't think they get enforced very well.



I suppose one could argue that individual parents need to be responsible for monitoring what their kids see online, or in a game, but I think that most parents would think that a game modding site would be safe, and perhaps have already looked at Dragon Age and decided that it's safe, but would be outraged if they had any idea that their kid can download animated pornography from DANexus. And let's be honest, those scenes ARE pornography.

Well, that's the problem with all ratings, isn't it? In order to download Better Sex Scenes and other adult content, you have to register and confirm that you're over 18, IIRC.

If you allow your kids to play a game that is labeled "18+" in the first place (and you don't mind your children watching slow-motion decapitations, blood fountains and torture), you shouldn't have too much problems with some healthy sex scenes...

I basically agree with you, Marvin. Although "you must confirm you're 18" isn't really going to stop anybody that's not. I can just see the net-savvy kids out there sticking their tongues in their cheeks and saying "yeah, I'm 18, yeah sure."

I think it comes down to their parents. I definitely would not be for anything that censors adults.

As for the OP's question, "do you like", I must admit I do like sexiness in my high fantasy.

Yes, I like adult content, though I wouldn't want the game to suffer an AO rating because of it. And it completely depends on the type of game of course. DA:O is nice, though the underwear is a bit silly.

To be blunt and honest, I do enjoy the adult content.

Not to 'get off' to it or anything like that, but truthfully, it makes the game more realistic to at the least have the option to do something like that.



The only thing I wish is that there were more options, even if they were 'fade to black' moments if necessary.

Every time you sleep with Zevran his approval goes up one. Romance with Zevran gets better with time it seems.

I have no interest in those kinda mods really but if people want to have more adult sex scenes in their game that is fine. To me im more concerned with the romances being well written than how sexy the scenes are.

The romances add a great deal to the depth of characterization and are enjoyable, adding to immersion. I like them pretty much at the level of adult they are, and wouldn't want them to go much further. For example, the Better Sex Scenes mod goes further than I find enjoyable. It's a little like Thunderbirds porn. Disturbing on several levels.

I like the adult content and I like some of the racier mods but you have a point here.  Consummation seems to be the end of most of the in game romances and, sorry about this, but I think that's a pretty male POV for most of us ladies, I think, consummation is actually the beginning of the romance proper.... Pity the game cannot see it like that.
