Wondered if anyone else had trouble gettinng all the upgrades from LotSB base.
I did the mission right after Horizon once and if you visit often enough you can
get all the weapon upgrades before you get to Reaper IFF mission.
However, I think that Horizon, Collector ship trap and LotSB are the best parts
of the game and want to spread them out, so I've been doing LotSB mission when
I'm at level 25 ( I hit Horizon at 12, collector trap at level 19 or 20 ).
My last playthrough, even though I visited the base a bunch of times I did not
get all the weapon damage upgrades until after Legion loyality mission.  ( I visited
after Reaper IFF { talked to Legion and got his mission before I tried that },
then visited after Legion Loyality to get the last upgrade ).
On this playthrough ( afer Reaper IFF )I did the same thing except I thought I would play with the
randomness and try this:
(1) save before base visit
(2) visit base, collect upgrade
(3) if upgrade is what I wanted ( shotgun for my Vanguard ) save otherwise
(4) don't save, reload the save before the visit and go back to (2).
Well I got a sniper upgrade, then did (3) and (4).
Repeated 2-4 four times and only got mineral upgrades.
So... after the last failure, I exited to the system menu and loaded the save from
there.  Presto, the shotgun upgrade was there.
Maybe it will always give you all the upgrades before the final mission,
I'm just not sure. Wonder if anyone else had trouble getting all the upgrades.

You must do a mission (any with the mission completed screen) before you can get another upgrade.

That or you can simply forward the system clock by a day if you are on a PC. Or wait 24 hours since you got your last upgrade (real time 24 hours).

Then just keep reloading until you get the upgrade and repeat until you have all 4.

Though they add next to nothing to be honest.

Yes you get upgrades after doing something with a Mission complete screen, but its almost always a mineral and not a weapon upgrade.  When do you guys hit the LotSB, I mean level?

In that case you have to reload until you get the upgrade. The mission in between guarantees that the upgrade WILL come, if you don't do a mission, you can reload as many times as you want and the upgrade will not appear.

Level has no impact on the upgrades, but I am usually level 30 (NG+) or about 20-22 (regular game). I do it after the Disabled Collector Ship mission.

I think you also need to finish some Shadow Broker assignments at the terminal. I couldn't get an upgrade till I did them.

my way of doing all investment missions and getting all upgrades is to save game, change date from e.g. 23rd december to 24th december; then load the game see effects of missions, get minerals and upgrades and so on until you get all 4 upgrades from shadow broker base

Damnnnnniiiiiitttttt, after I sprang the suicide mission where the crew gets captured I returned to the base and only got some minerals. So no 6th sniper upgrade for me. Lucky that I'm running as a vanguard with mattock.

I just make sure I do Lair WAY before I get to the point of no return. Usually I do it right after the Collector Ship, leaving me at least 1 recruitment and a bunch of loyalty missions before the abduction. Just keep checking back in, and at the end of your gaming session, check the inventory, save at the SB base and then check when you load up the next time you play.

ryoldschool:  I got a ask; are you playing on the Xbox 360 or the PC?  Cause there is a simple trick that works on the Xbox to get all the upgrades easily without having to do missions constantly.

Basically,

Something like that.
Just change the Date on the Xbox's system to a different date; say to 11/15/2010 and just keep moving the date up till you get all the upgrades.  I've only tried this offline from Xbox Live, though, and disconnected from my wirelss network.  So I can't tell you if it works when connected or not.  Probably does, so no issue.

Don't know if that was common knowledge or not, just thought I'd put it out there.

I normally hit Shadow Broker around level 26, and by mission end I'm at 27.  Got all the upgrades in a single pass, nothing really effected it not even the investments.  If all I got where minerals, I'd just reload that save again and access the terminal again, sometimes there was an upgrade then sometimes not.

Yes, on xbox360. Thanks for the procedure. On my other current playthrough ( a soldier with rev ) If I don't get the AR upgrade before the reaper IFF, I'll do the date thing. Next playthrough I'm going to try LotSB at a lower level.

When connected to xbox live you cannot change the clock.  So I'll just try it earlier.

Alright; than it's only able to work when disconnect from Live.  All of that just to manually reset a clock.  It works alot like it does on the PC, just constantly manipulating the clock.  Should only take a few minutes depending on the number of delievered upgrades you previously pickup.

That's annoying. is there any way of guaranteeing that you get a weapon upgrade that doesn't involve fiddling with the clock?

To sum up what's been mentioned:

- Do any mission with a Mission Complete screen.
- If you finished LOTSB post-suicide mission and literally have everything completed (therefore no more missions left), you can do one of the following:

> On PC, simply forward the system clock to about 24 hours real time and go back to the game.
> On Xbox 360, if you are connected to Xbox Live, you won't be able to change the clock since it is set to the actual timezone of your region, in which case you can either disconnect from Live and temporarily change the clock (that means playing ME2 offline) OR save your game and wait until it's tomorrow real time before you go back.

That's pretty much how it works. If I recall correctly, there are three sets of everything (upgrades, investment opportunities, and videos), which means going back to the base three times.

There are four upgrades, not three.

That's right; it's been a while so I don't really remember. I know there are three sets of videos and investment opportunities, though.

That's what I originally thought - it's just that someone mentioned this actually just makes a mineral reward appear rather than a weapon upgrade. I couldn't care less about the minerals but I'm after all the weapon upgrades.
