I dunno. Leviathan WOULD be a pretty awesome name for a reaper.

You're missing the point. In another post, he claimed that he's attempting to "seed a meme". He's doing it wrong in all sorts of ways.
And, besides, the known Reaper names (Sovereign, Harbinger) are words that can be used as nouns and adjectives. Leviathan doesn't fit. Plus it reminds me of some moron at another forum that used that as his username.

actually harbinger is a noun and a verb, sovereign is an adjective and a noun, Leviathan is just a noun. Assuming reapers have no individual Identity, like the geth, and the names are chosen to represent what that particular reaper typically stands for leviathan would be an unusual name.

However there does not appear to be any  linguisticly based trend in the naming of reapers, short of fairly intimidating names One being a refrence to Authority(sovereign) and the other simply an ominously foreshadowing name typically used to indicate an..how to say...a herald if you will(Harbinger).

Truthfully It makes more sense that the 2 reapers have their names reversed as to be iconic of their rolles, Sovereign was more of a harbinger as Harbinger was more of the Execution of the Repears Authority and unchanged Plans.

Semantically it's also a toss up as i doubt anyone would argue that the Reapers do appear quite arrogant and i highly doubt that anyone would debate that Sovereign was a Lavaithan of a ship. Truthfully it seems like a more reasonable conjecture, given established "Reaper Ego" (and that the word Leviathan is typically used to indicate something of Immense Power and or Size and in our past to describe Mammoth sea creatures and in Sci-Fi used to describe Trully Massive Objects"Leviathan of Diss, The flagship Leviathan") that leader-like reaper, a "Reaper-Prime" if you will would  go by the Title Leviathan. An that's not even touching on the fact that Sovereign Dwarfed Turian Dreadnaughts and was capable of ramming through them, Imagine what a reaper any size  larger than sovereign with even more firepower can do.it would be a true Leviathan(by sci-fi standards) indeed (pun intended).

but i digress.

My sole purpose in posting was to state that there is No Legitimate
Basis to rule out the name Leviathan, at least on the linguistic or semantic levels

Edit: sorry for double post and potentially de railing, if anyone would liek to continue convo PM me.

and to get back on Track

I cheered in ME 3 when Geth and Quarian Peace was established.

When playing ME3 I stood up and cheered when it was obviously made clear that choices in the previous games did have an effect on how things occur in ME3 with some choices biting me in the butt and some giving surprising benefits.

When playing ME3, I stood up and cheered when it became obvious that people who I didn't need recruit in ME2 that were in life threatening situations were classed as dead.

When playing ME3, I stood up and cheered when the squadmates I had recruited in ME2 and made it out of the Suicide Mission alive made an appearance in the game (ME3) even if just for a cameo but with some coming back to help Shepard again if they got nothing better to do.

When playing ME3, I stood up and cheered the moment the game title appeared on the screen.

When playing ME3 I stood up and cheered when I pressed a button and something awesome happened :D

When playing ME3, I stood up and cheered when I realized ME2 squaddies are back as squaddies.

When playing ME3, I stood up and cheered when my Shep said 'Ah yes, Reapers' and the Turian Councilor admitted he was wrong, and my Shep was like: 'Don't worry, as a Spectre I'd do my best to protect the Council and the Citadel'.

When playing ME3, I stood up and cheered when my Shepard was presented as a savior of the Galaxy, not just Earth alone.

When playing ME3, I stood up and cheered when I got an batarian squadmate, an interesting character useful in battles.

when playing mass effect 3, i stood up and cheered when i drove my MAKO up to an ELEVATOR where i heard a NEWS STORY that gave me A QUEST and then found a CRATE and took its contents and then EQUIPPED THEM and TOGGLED MY HELMET and then continued to EXPLORE the uncharted world and then have a MEANINGFUL CONVERSATION THAT EXPANDED THE STORYLINE rather than ANOTHER STUPID FIREFIGHT...see what i did there?

and also, when i punched Khalisah Al-Jilani in the face for the 3rd time

I stood up and cheered when:

The Lazarus Project was finally explained

My squadmates started dressing like soldiers and not as superheroes

When I got a uniform for my crew that made them look like professionals, and not like a  professional sports team.

I was finally reconciled with the VIrmire Survivor.

i sent an EVA team to scrape that Cerberus logo off the Normandy's hull

The Council stopped eating paint chips and finally remembered that they did in fact believe me about the Reapers at one point

The Collector's ultimate plan was finally revealed, and the end of  ME 2 finally made sense.

Being a Spectre started meaning something again

I blew my personal terminal out the air lock

I got a real tank to explore planets with

A seemingly innocuous event in one of the earlier games actually turns out to be important, for good or for ill

Iakus, I love your posts

Plus! I will stood up and cheer if there is a wedding between Shep and her/his LI. I want to have my happy ending dammit!

Edit: I will stand up and cheered when the Turian Councilor finally gets fired :o

... when I saw Tali resurrected so I can send her to death again.

... when after an "I take my property back" Cerberus assault on Normandy, an Alliance spec ops team rushes in to save the day, led by the good ol' Anderson who finally gave up politics and ventured to the thing he is really professional at. Spectres.

When playing ME3, I stood up and cheered when, after a glorious battle against the Reapers with the assistance of an unnamed, mysterious helmeted Krogan turned to Shepard, took off his mask, and the first interaction was...

Wrex: Shepard.

Shepard: Wrex.

also, When playing ME3, I stood up and cheered (probably cried tears of joy too) when they showed Tali's face.

all Rachni united in one song sung by their rescued mother, all Quarians under Leadership of Tali the loyal, Geth united with their once off-fallen brethren, all united Krogan following Wrex the fateful and the Alliance and Citadel forces crush half the Reaper fleet leaving the remaining half to Shepards special care.

when I got to ride an elcor

when Shep had to anally probe an abducted alien (not in a gay way, I'm just shocked no one's made a reference to the anal probe in the ME games)
