Lets be honest. The murder knife didn't make much sense. I mean why is the Warden killing people with what looks like a kitchen cutting knife when he has an armory's worth of axes, magical daggers, swords, and other instruments of pain? But there was a certain charm to the murder knife and the way it was used. It said to the victim "I don't respect you enough to kill you with a real weapon." It was also a multi-purpose weapon useful for cutting other stuff.

Yes it was a bit odd but I for one want to see the murder knife return. It can even be the Warden's same murder knife, a relic found by Hawke early in the game.

So will the murder knife be featured in DA2? For old time's sake?

I believe John Eplar confirmed that there would be something akin to the murder knife.

I think something was mentioned that there'll be more variation when it comes to killing people in cutscenes, for instance a mage would use magic instead of using weapons.

Well that good. I really don't want to kill some poor bartender, sigh at my computer, and yell "It's not the same."
If any of the Warden's items become artifacts of some kind, the murder knife should be it.

I guess it makes sense for mages to do something creative with their magic, but for everyone else the murder knife should be Hawke's choice.

I feel like for the teacup killing scene, the camera would cut away, you'd hear porcelain smash, Hawke curse and then sounds of struggle. And if death by a spoon didn't get DA2 the "Brutal" award on GameSpot I don't know what would.

The murder knife was clearly the breakout star of DA:O, it even has it's own mass female fanbase, larger than all the alistair & anders ones~! (don't even ask what they do with their kitchen knives at home on those lonely nights)

dude they can make it a useable weapon too, "Warden's Murder Knife"-Owned by the warden who accompanied King Alistair in the fight against the archdemon. This Knife in particular was used to both shame and kill those the warden hated immensly as well as performing an ensamble of functions similar to a Anderian Army Knife(play off swiss army knife, Anders -Swiss Alps) from triage to cutting Ropes.



It would be Awesome.

This is basically what I see when every new horror movie comes out. "This Summer, some monster or crazy guy will kill some people for basically NO REASON, probably with a gimmicky weapon that isn't particularly great for killing people!"

In one of the early video casts the stream ones. They said that hawke would use his respective weapon. If it changed since then I do not know.

Seriously, I was forever checking my inventory to see if I had somehow acquired an otherwise unremarkable kitchen utensil, but it never appeared.

I remember watching someone's compilation video of murder knife kills from their DA:O playthrough on YouTube a while back. I never laughed so hard in my life.
