Tradition! Well I don't know but Tuesday is the traditional release day for media in the US. Why? Who knows.

In North America, new media (games, DVD's, music, etc) is released on Tuesdays. I'm not sure why. Maybe because it's a slower business day, easier to stock the shelves? In Europe, things are released on Fridays. That's really all there is to it, I'm afraid.

It's about how things are shipped and the fact that the warehouses/depot want to get stuff out of the way on the next day. usually you get a big shipment on Monday (because most truckers don't take weekends off when they got a load in NA) usually about 8-12h turn around (separating large shipments into smaller ones) trucks get loaded that night and in to the next day (Tues. in this case) and shipments go to or get picked up by individual stores. then on Wens. there is another large shipment in and you do it again. that's why sometimes you get told at stores when they sell out that there will be more by Thursday/Friday because those are the second turnaround day/s.

I've always wondered why things are released on different dates also.. Wouldn't having a world wide release date cut down on piracy? There's most likely a large amount of little pirates who just want to get their hands on the product even if they are planning to purchase it.

Maybe so, but it will be avalible November 3rd  in North America for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.  It will be available in Europe November 6th for the Xbox and PC. and the 17th for PS3. That is like ages after :-(

11 days for a Europe PS3 version.... hmmmm

Pfft..., there goes my planned rant and rave about US people getting preferential treatment because they feel they're special. Thanks a lot.       :P /Joke

It's nice that some strange things have a very simple explanation.

By the way, I think US people are getting preferential treatment because they feel that they are special. It's totally unfair to the rest of us.

This be the truth. Just imagine the amount of piracy that comes from the fact that TV-series are release in the U.S. before everywhere else.

I hardly know people that watch series on the TV anymore. And the morality or legality aside, why should we have to wait for a year or more for a season or new series to reach us? It's just not fair with all the americaners talking about Stargate: Universe, before I even knew that it had started. :(

Really Mr. Gaider? You must be the only game company I've ever liked that has different release dates on a PC game in EU/US :( Evil I tell you!

mmmmm, Stargate indeed. I've got a lot of catching up to do though.

As for the seccond part,  you mean like the World Championship of Baseball? Like where only one country is involved?   :P. It is funny, and really entertaining sometimes.
