Hello,

A while back i bought the ultimate edition, installed the game, and have since recently just completed origins and all the dlc.

However, i want to play awakening now, but i can't find it anywhere! Apparently it's meant to be under "Other Campaigns" but it isn't. I've only just registered the ultimate edition up here though, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I think I'm probably just being stupid, but I couldn't find any threads answering it anywhere.

Help please.

Click "new game" and you should get a choice of Origins or Awakening. Click Awakening and you'll get a choice to import a warden or start new

"Dragon Age: Awakening" is indeed supposed to show under the "Other campaigns" option.

Are you sure that awakening is actually properly installed, not something silly like there being a separate disc you just never thought to look at? (I don't have ultimate edition myself, so I can't say for sure what the install process should be like.)

Awakening should have installed from disc 2 during DAUE installation.
Check that it is/still is installed 'in game' by looking at your Dragon Age game directory - same directory as bin_ship, tools and DA launcher.
Go to the addins directory and look for folder 'dao_prc_ep_1'
This should be Awakenings data file directory - open the manifest file in this directory  to check.
If it's there then at least Awakenings is installed into the game, it's then just a matter of the game recognising it.

I am having the same problem. When I first played Origins I was offered the option of playing Origins or Awakenings. After completing Origins I am no longer given that option and it doesn't show up under Other Campaigns either. It was downloaded--I see it in the addins directory but the game is apparently not recognizing it. How do I fix this so I can play?

Im having the same problem. Just bought Awakenings and installed it and it doesnt show in the game. When I look at the Configure options it shows the cd key listed for the expansion. I bought Origins off Direct2Drive and Awakenings from Gamersgate if that helps. Running Win7 64bit. Its just weird the expansion installed with no problems, but it just does not show up in the game. Btw I registered the expansion on the Dragon Age website. Any help would be nice.

Same problem here, I hadn't played this game for a while. I remember I had an absolute nightmare with DLC when this game came out, and they still haven't fixed all the issues! Seriously WTF EA and bioware. I have a brand new computer with a fresh copy of the ultimate edition, you guys should have got these problems ironed out by now.

Ok I fixed this myself. It appears the addins.xml located in my user directory did not update the list correctly with the entry for awakenings from the manifest.xml found in the default game installation directory for the awakenings expansion. I had to manually copy the entry and paste it into the former document to get it working.

Sorry if I sound a bit vague here, but I am too tired to do a write up explaining it step by step right now. Hopefully some of the more savvy of you can decrypt what I'm saying here in the meantime and help others out.

Seriously Bioware this was a real pain in the ass to track down, if you insist on using such a convoluted scheme for your expansion and DLC content, at least make sure it works out of the box.

Had the same problem using the Ultimate Edition with Win XP.

The fix proposed by Diernes works for me. Big thanks to you!

Here's what I did in a bit more detail:

1) Open both files, using e.g. notepad:

a) I:\\Dokumente und Einstellungen\\Sam\\Eigene Dokumente\\BioWare\\DragonAge\\Settings\\AddIns.xml

B) I:\\Programme\\Dragon Age\\addins\\dao_prc_ep_1\\manifest.xml

[Drive letter and so forth has to be changed of course]

Make a backup copy of AddIns.xml before proceeding.

2) In the manifest.xml, copy everything from

<AddInItem UID="DAO_PRC_EP_1"... up to </AddInItem>

3) In the AddIns.xml, paste just below <AddInsList>

--> I can now select Awakening under "optional campaigns".

Hope that helps.

Oh, a small footnote to the above:

This worked for the account with admin rights.

On the account without admin rights, all content but Origins itself shows up as activated but not authorized and "Other campaigns" is greyed out.

I was able to choose origins or awakening when I got everything running, and i followed all the instructions. after that, my laptop decided it would crash, and I had to re install everything. then I had the same problems as everyone else. It doesn't even show it in the other campaign list.Is the game playable through the secong disc? And if i'm logged in I can't load a save file, even if I was logged out when I saved it. Also, which is the cd key? i have the version with the discs, I know where the dlc code is, what one is the cd key? I bet thats gunna be the problem!!

One last thing, if i was to get a new laptop/computer, would i have to get a new copy of ultimate edition for all the DLC?

I bought the Ultimate Edition for Xmas, and installed it, but there was no promo code for the DLC. After a Live Chat, and proving that I hadn't already downloaded the stuff, I got code to use. Half the stuff showed up authorized, but the major DLC packs didn't. A second Live Chat guy told me to reset the DLC, which I did, following his instructions exactly. Now I have those 14 things, but still none of the major DLC OR the Awakening option at game start, which I had when I started. I checked my Manifest.xml and Addins.xml, and there's no record of the Awakening material. Should I reinstall the second disc? Uninstall everything and start over? Now I'm mad I shelled out the extra $ for the ultimate stuff. I haven't even been able to play yet! Sick of talking to support people now.

@Jnerd

After I installed and patched to 1.04, I also saw half the free downloads with just some this_that_djs_name type of thing instead of "The real module name". When I logged into my bioware account on the main game menu, all of a sudden the names showed up.

I tried to install just from disc 2 also, but it wasn't an option. if you have this folder, then there should also be a manifest file to copy from?

...\\Dragon Age\\addins\\dao_prc_ep_1\\
