Does Mass Effect 1 even matter anymore? Or has Electronic Arts Undermined it?

Everyone needs to relax and take a deep breath. Arguing about any aspect of the RPG vs. TPS crowd/values is going to get us absolutely nowhere. We should all realize one big and easy concept:

We need to stop venting about our dissatisfactions directing them towards each other and try and funnel our dissatisfactions into constructive criticisms that we direct towards the people who let us down: the devs.

People who prefer the RPG elements and immersion intensive experiences, we need to talk calmly and constructively to show the devs that our frustration and dissapointment stems from more than just "YOU TRAITORS UR GAEME SUX HAXORS SHOOTER NEWBS RUINED M.E."

People who prefer the visceral combat and third person shooting elements, you need to realize that the majority (90%) of the improvements made in ME2 were directed towards satisfying the "shooter" crowd

Now that almost all of those elements have been refined and polished to almost perfection to make ME2 the great game it was, you guys need to help us "immersion lovers" bring back and improve upon what made ME the amazing experience it was.

There is really no point to creating or continuing conflict between ourselves, because the only thing that will happen will be that the devs will cast aside all our cravings and beggin for immersion and not just pew pews as internal fan conflict, and both RPG and TPS lovers will suffer.

So let's all just get along, stop asking each other for evidence and lists of games we've played and who is the better fan or more "real" player.

We all appreciate ME/ME2 for different reasons, and I think we can all agree that the Devs completely removed everything in ME1 that made the Mass Effect experience what a lot of us loved.

Theres nothing wrong with enjoying the refined shooter elements of the game. however, there is something wrong with pretending that's all we should care about having in ME3. Especially after what they did, or rather didn't include in ME2.

It would be nice if you're right, but I'm expecting the worst. That way if I'm wrong, the surprise will be a pleasant one. And if I'm right, then Bioware met my expectations.

That's quite alright. I don't mind anyone preparing for the worst. I just don't like it when people claim that the worst is definitely going to happen. Doom and gloom is tedious and silly, but careful consideration and preparation is arguably more intelligent than hopeful optimism. I just hope my sunny outlook on the situation pays off, heh.
