As sameone who has been a Bioware customer for a decade,
I feel kind of insulted that there are "teams" of "export rpg
players from around the world" yet I have never heard that
this event was even happening until today. I have a hard time
believing hat these are the "best EVAR" when only a select
few were even "tested"(or however you chose teams).

And how do you "win"? was it a random draw? If it was. I don't feel so bad.

It depends on the team. One of the UK players won a contest on a website. I think the US team was drawn from long active forumites who were recruited through PM. There was a last minute opening that was done via a random draw last week. The US team is, incidentally, all female long-term forumites.

I dunno. The announcement about team makeup was on the main news page of the main DA:O site. There's also a link to the competition video feed. I think there's also a bunch of stuff on greywardens.com, if you're interested.

The announcement is on the main news page - it doesn't have a rundown of all the competitors, but it did mention the all-female US squad. A singular thing amongst video game competitions, I would think.

bizarre, why not just cut a checken's head off and whoever's name it lands on is in?

It would be awesome if half the people were just Mass Effect fans. What a joke.

oh come on...its not that bizarre. The US team apparently had some decent net presence and was offered a chance. Guess it pays to actually be nice and productive on the interwebs.

USA team members were quietly invited over forum PM. One dropped out... wait a sec, did you even read my post above?

I suppose I can add that team Bioware was also all hand-picked by Bioware. They're forumites, like the US team. I dunno what the qualifications were aside from the four Americans who went are long-time active forum members who have written many grammatical, respectful and interesting posts and showed genuine enthusiasm for the game over the past year or so. Good on them!

Pretty much being active and a non-troll. A lot of them also have many Bioware games registered to their name, so that helps to establish somewhat of a solid gaming background, but I can't say if that was considered or if it was just by chance. Anyway, longtime Bioware fans are bound to have many of their games.

@FFLB , @MrGOH snide comments aside, some have show "genuine enthusiasm" when it was first announced back 5 years ago... I just hope it was based on seniority not on "new fans who are really nice and post alot" :)
