Ok, APPARENTLY, this is from a user on Gamefaqs....take what you will from it:

QUOTE:

"You've all been deceived. Well at least that's what a reliable source
within Bioware has told me. The trailer we all saw a few weeks ago was
accurate in depicting Earths destruction, but clearly it doesn't tell
the whole story. I've been informed that the trailer is from the
perspective of the Earthborn Shepard, which is why the trailer was
codenamed "Earthborn". Apparently Bioware has been listening to the
feedback on how choosing whether to be earthborn, spacer, or colonist
didn't make too much of a difference in the past 2 games; So now the
option you choose or have chosen will now have a much larger impact.
According to the source, there will be 2 other trailers highlighting the
"Spacer" & "Colonist" viewpoint in the months to come. The other
trailers could depict another attack on the citadel & fleets or
multiple colonies/settlements with Alliance interest being attacked,
etc.

But it's been suggested that the main focus will be on stopping the
reaper threat on Earth, where the final showdown will happen. The
British guy in the Earthborn trailer is just a random soldier; he will
have no role in ME3 at all. Lastly, ME3 takes place several years after
the events of ME2. The source has no info on whether Ash/Kaid will have a
major role or if they achieved spectre status, no info about a Tali
face reveal, the status of Mordin/Thane being alive, or any new members
coming aboard the Normandy. It was hinted though that there could be
early squad member deaths i.e. the suicide mission of ME2, so maybe at
that point there could be new members to recruit or to fill the void.
I'm sure there will be folks on here who will "dismiss this claim" but
I'm only relaying what I've been told. Take the info I've shared how you
want it. Happy/Merry Christmas.

Taking with a grain of salt, but i hope its true.

It'd be nice for origin to have more of a role in ME.

Interesting, but I am calling troll as of right now. Gamefaqs is not a very stable source of info. Still an enticing theory. I would very much like your background info having a larger impact.

No problem guys. I came across it and thought, well, COULD be true, and it sounds plausible, doesn't sound far-fetched...

It'd be great too if true.

Giving the backgrounds more than just a title would be awesome.

I hope so, that would put in more replayability in the game.

Not sure if I believe it either but I find it interesting.

My only thought is 'several years in the future' and that the reapers must be reeaaally slow. Or flying in dramatic slowmo much like Shep likes to jump

I'm liking the sound of this, kinda makes sense given the Reapers light obsession with shep in ME2. Does that mean that spacer sheps will have to rescue their mom's ship from a reaper attack?

Sry OP but this smells like a bull, with the essence of kitty litter. Until we see definitive proof at least

Like I said, could be bull....could be true.

But I will say it sounds plausible more than not possible...so we'll see what happens.

Remember the part where they're way out in dark-space? Even if they happened to be hanging out next to Alpha Centauri, it'd take them 4 years at light-speed to get to Earth. That galaxy in the final ME2 shot was pretty small, I'd wager it took them a few years to get to the nearest metro station (relay).

The trailer bit is plausible. But will it happen? Who knows. I do expect another, more detailed CG trailer.

The Earth destruction is pretty much the "Shepard Is Dead" trailer for ME3. I wouldn't be surprised if the next trailers depicted colonies getting ransacked.

Hey guys, my uncle works at Nintendo. In mario kart 64 if you go backwards through peaches castle four times as bowser with red shells on it takes you to a secret level.

Sound familiar?

best thing to do is not speculate on "possible" other trailers we might get very let down on self-imposed hype

So, obviously, if your Shepard is from Earth, the Reapers will attack Earth.

"Great job, jerk! Way to be born on Earth and ruin things for everybody!"

Hi Chris. Normally I'd believe you, but you've said no to things before that turned out right, soo, well I'll just take a wait and see approach,
