have you tried reinstalling? I had the same issue and this seemed to fix it for me

This is a special thank you message to everyone who has been coming in here and helping others when I have not been able to.
I'm not going to name anyone individually, you know who you are, or atleast you should.

But yeah, I know it may not mean much, but Thank You. I hope you continue to help me help others when I fall short or when you know an easier/better way or doing something or even just posting something of your own. In fact, if you feel the need, feel free to post your own tutorials (or the link) in here or send them to me via private messaging so that I can post it myself. I know it's my thread, but I think it would just be nice to try and have everything in one place. I realize this is what the wiki is for, but most people look on this site first.

So yes,
Thanks

I have reinstalled the toolset, the game and the SQLServer several times with no luck. Though I've learn a great deal how to uninstall stuff from Windows now :pinched:

I probably have found the issue though, it could be the same I had when updating my XP to SP3. Since I'm running the XP through bootcamp, for some reason SP3 tried to find something or install something to the MacOS and thus failed each time, so had to hide the Mac Drive from it. That's the next thing I'm going to try out with the toolset, or rather with the SQLServer, which I think has the problem. I posted this here for those that might be using the game through bootcamp on Mac.

Also the issue could be with the hard drive I use to make back-up copies of the stuff I have on my computer, since it seems to start each time I try to install the SQLServer. Might be that the stupid program tries to install or find something from it as well. So I will yet again try everything a new when I have unplugged the extra hard drive and hidden my Mac drive from the XP completely.

Thanks for all the time and effort you've spent into making these tutorials

I've managed to add a face I made in the toolset to the in-game character creator, but I just can't find away to change attributes, talents .etc. I cant even do what was mentioned on page 1.
The reason for all of this is because I can't find the stupid (charactername).das file in my save slot. I don't know know if its got to do with where I saved my custom morph or what file type I saved it as. I saved it as hm_Aedan.mrh.

Please help me I have no clue of what I must doPosted Image.....This whole toolset thing is still very new to me

Tyvm

The save file should be in: My Documents>Bioware>Dragon Age>Characters>Character Name> Saves>Slot
_1>Character Name.DAS

Thats the problem it's not in My Documents>Bioware>Dragon Age>Characters>Character Name> Saves>Slot
_1 I can locate the Slot_1 file but there is only one .das file and it is CastleCousland.das.met. There is also 2 jpeg images and an Aedan_Story file. Thanks for replyin anyway.

Im sorry that I only replied now but I live in South Africa and this is kind of the only time I get on
thanks

Ok this is a step by step explanation of what ive done(don't know if it will help, but here It goes anyway.)

1. I open toolset and go to file>new>morph

2. I choose human male as base and adjust from their .

3. I then go to file>save as and save it as hm_Aedan.mrh. in the file mydocuments>Bioware>Dragonage>Toolset

4. After that I post to local

5. Then I go to file>openfile>Mydocuments>Bioware>Dragonage>characters>Aedan>saves>Slot_1.

i can't find the aedan.das file in there And yes Iv'e definately made a save as that character. Ive looked in all of my save slots as well as all my other characters save slots but there is no (charactername).das file in any of them.I also have not messed with any of my files

Thanks

Ok load the game up and open your saved game. Then hit esc, save game and save a new game. make sure this is a proper save not quick save. The save file should be in the slot_1 folder.

Sorry I haven't read through this whole thread since it is rather large.

When selecting features, you are not able to look around on your computer under "all game resources" yet the toolset does not load all the custom content I have in my override folders. How do I access this content to use it in the toolset, namely in this morph editing process?

Ok, I think I've gotten everything to work otherwise, even got the modules folder to my MyDocuments>Bioware>DragonAge folder. But I still don't know how to get the head morph to show on a previously saved game. Where do I have to put it? I created the morph making module which is described on the tab 6 on this thread, but I just don't understand how is it suppose to help me to get my head morph to another module?

I tried to change the head of a character I have on a character builder module, but obviously put the morph (mrh and mor) files to a wrong folder. Don't want to try to put them elsewhere though, since I'm afraid of breaking my game again.

So could someone just explain simply and easy, where should I put those mrh and mor files if I want to for example change a head for an existing character in the original DA campaign?

Edit: Never try anything when sick *note to self* - because mind doesn't work. I realized I had not changed the saved game in the toolset, basically because the mod where I tried to change the head did not show in the toolset's 'manage modules' tab. So it is impossible to change appearance in a custom made module if one has not made it oneself?

Other notice was, that there is no 'modules' folder in the MyDocuments>Bioware>DragonAge unless you have made a custom module yourself and saved it. That folder appeared for me after I had made the said mod. And I think that is something nobody has mentioned on this forum before (maybe because nobody has known about it?). So mere opening the toolset or making a head morph doesn't create the 'modules' folder.

Ok I don't know if you know this yet but you can increase/decrease your party members approval.

Make sure Dragonage is not running

1.So open the toolset and go to file>openfile>mydocuments>Bioware>Dragonage>Characters>(yourcharactersname)>saves>Slot_#(# is in place of number of your latest save slot)>(charactername).das

WARNING! if your character is very far in the game and has lots of saves you might get OUT OF MEMORY! error if this does occur simply close and open another characters .das file who is still in early stages of the game

2.Expand "Top Level Struct" then expand "SAVEGAME_PARTYLIST">"SAVEGAME_PARTY_APPROVAL_LIST"

3.Now you should see some expandable numbers, expand all of them. Ok I know which party members numbers 0-4 represent since they were the only ones I had with this character.

4.0-Alistair. 1-Morrigan 2-Mabari Warhound 3-Leliana 4-Sten

5.where it says "SAVEGAME_PARTY_APPROVAL_LEVEL" under the value column there should be a number. (which is that party members current approval towards you).

6.Type in what you would like that party members approval to be. I do not recommend putting it higher than 100 since it might cause some problems. I have personally not tried it but you can if you are willing to take the risk.

7.when you are finished go to file>save, then close the toolset (you don't have to) and start up Dragonage you will see that your  party members approval has changed to what you set it as.

NOTE: DO NOT WORRYPosted Image THIS WILL NOT MESS UP DIALOGUE WITH CHARACTERS WHEN YOU TALK TO THEM MOST WILL GIVE YOU THERE COMPANION QUEST IF YOU'VE SET THERE APPROVAL HIGH ENOUGH. YOU SHOULD ALSO STILL BE ABLE TO SAY THINGS THAT YOU HAVE NOT YET SAID.

Oh and Thanks again for awesome tutorial!Posted Image

I did it, yay! Finally got my toolset made head morph into the game. All it took was to figure out how to get the 'modules' folder to appear.

Now if I just could solve the problem to get enough money for a new computer with a better graphics card... *wide grin*

Well good, I'm glad you figured it out. I'm really sorry I couldn't be of more help. It's kinda hard to help with technical issues if I've not experienced any of my own that wasn't a super easy fix, you know?

Ok iv'e been doing some more crazy!Posted Image experimentations with the toolset by altering things in the (charactername).das file

I'VE NOW FIGURED HOW TO MAKE MY CHARACTER IN A PERMANENT STEALTH AND ALL ENEMIES WILL IGNORE YOU AND DON'T WORRY THIS WILL NOT CAUSE YOUR CHARACTER TO MOVE AROUND VERY SLOWLY WHICH HAPPENS WHEN YOU NORMALLY ENTER STEALTH MODE. iF YOU'RE INTERESTED READ ON IF NOT, DON'T BOTHER.

1. Open toolset and open (charactername).das file which is located in file>openfile>mydocuments>Bioware>Dragonage>characters>(charatername)>Saves>Slot_#(# is number of that save slot).

PLEASE REFER TO MY FORMER POST FOR "OUT OF MEMORY!" ERROR.

2.Expand "Top Level Struct>SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR" and then look for "SAVEGAME_CREATURE_STEALTH"

3. Under the value column there will be a 0 change it to 1.

4.Go to "File>save"

5. start up Dragonage and load the savegame that you changed .

6. Your character will look completely normal and youll most likely think it's not working. Do not fear.. As soon as you enter combat you'll notice that enemies will not attack you

Note: when you enter combat the word DETECTED will pop up over your character every few seconds and an ! mark will pop over the enemy that has supposedly detected you,but because your default is set to stealth your character will automatically remain in stealth and enemies that have supposedly detected you will still not be able to attack you.

I WILL TRY TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET RID OF THIS DETECTED NOTIFICATION SINCE IT IS KIND OF IRRITATING IF YOU WANT TO YOUR CHARACTER TO GO BACK TO NORMAL SIMPLY CHANGE "SAVEGAME_CREATURE_STEALTH" VALUE BACK TO 0

THANKS AGAINPosted Image HOPE TO FIGURE OUT SOME MORE CRAZYPosted Image POSSIBILITIES

Ok I've found something that looks hilarious.Posted Image Have you ever thought to yourself.."I wonder how my character will look like with it's head chopped off!Posted Image" Well now your dreams can become a reality....

1. Open toolset and open (charactername).das file which is located in file>openfile>mydocuments>Bioware>Dragonage>characters>(charatername)>Saves>Slot_#(# is number of that save slot).

2.Expand "Top Level Struct>SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR>SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE"

3. where it says SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE_DECAPITATED under the value column there should be a 0 change it to 1

4.Then go to "File>save"

5. and voila when you start up dragonage and load your save your characters head will be chopped off at the neck

Note: I HAVE NOT TRIED "KISS"Posted Image OPTION WITH HIGH APPROVAL PARTY MEMBERS, MIGHT CAUSE GLITCH WITH IT OR ANY OTHER SCENES THAT INVOLVE INTERACTION WITH THE HEAD = USE AT OWN RISK
Posted ImageTHANKS

Oh and once you get bored of your character running around without a head just change value back to 0 and save.

Ok so now I've figured out how to make my char invinciblePosted Image!

1. Open toolset and open (charactername).das file which can be located in "File>openfile>mydocuments>Bioware>Dragonage>characters>(charactername)>Slot_#"(# is num of slot you wish to modify)

2.Expand "Top Level Struct>SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR>SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR>"

3. now look for "SAVEGAME_OBJECT_IMMORTAL" which is right beneath the expandable "SAVEGAME_EQUIPMENT_ITEMS"

4. under the value column for "SAVEGAME_OBJECT_IMMORTAL" there should be a 0 change it to 1

5.save the file and Startup Dragonage, when you get into combat you will realise that your health is STILL GOING DOWN! DON'T WORRY IT WILL NOT GO LOWER THAN 1 WHEN IT GETS TO 1 ALL ENEMIES  ATTACKS WILL DEAL NO DAMAGE.

IF YOU DON'T TRUST ME AND THINK IM TRYING TO GET YOU KILLED SAVE BEFORE YOU ENTER COMBAT (just Joking) Posted Image

You can just do this with the console as well, along with adjusting approval and other things. It's much safer if you don't want to risk your savegame, you can do it dynamically in-game, and obviously works even if the Toolset won't load your save because of the memory error.

http://www.gamefaqs....ode/920668.html

If you know how to script you can make scripts for just about anything you want to do. I made me a nice give_item script, a script to respec characters, and another that adds/removes skill/talent/attribute points.

You would need to make fundamental changes to the stealth scripts.

How would you go about placing custom items in your inventory? I'm not very advanced, and am really used to the Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout 3 (all Bethesda) construction sets, and this just truly confuses me. I've made myself a custom staff, and have tried several methods of placing it in the gameworld, all of which have failed.

So yeah, if you can assist me with adding it into my inventory in a savegame, that'd be awesome.

Nice tutorials by the way. I've done the head morphing one and my guy truly looks unique now. =D

easiest way is to use a script. It's a fairly simple script to write:

void main() {  CreateItemOnObject(R"Item file.uti", OBJECT_SELF, 1, "", TRUE);}

Just replace the item file.uti with the name of your Item's UTI file.
