Thanks so much for reuploading the images!  Now that I see what the toolset *should* look like on that step, I figured out that I have this problem whenever I open up my lvl 20 character (I should have experimented on a new save file), so I'm fixing that now.  This tutorial was really helpful, and easy to follow when you can see the pics!  :D

Thank you! I'm glad I could be of service.

I've been lucky enough to avoid the "out of memory" problem because I alwasys change the face right after I can make a 'hard' save during the origin stories.

Could you help me? You know, while this is so nice (thanks so much again) to have a possibility to change a face of my char, but there is one thing that irkes me. Is there a way to change already created face? What I mean is to take my save and change the face from there, because when I use the toolset there are only six basic faces, not the faces that can be created ingame.

I'm so sorry for my awfully crappy english, it's not my native, I just hope you can understand it.))

If I'm understanding you correctly, you're wanting to know if you can load and change the face of the character you created in game instead of starting from the beginning?

It's possible under the SAVEGAME_CHAR_APPEARANCE section of the .das file. It's a Binary that has a code for all settings. I just put my first characters head on my second character. Worked flawlessly.

I like a girl I've created and I want just tweak her appearance, not to start from zero point.

And elven male's basic face is pretty indecent. While there are some presets when I create a face in game, there is only one in the toolset. And I just hate a mouth of this basic face. And brows are pretty awful. So I want to create a male elf in the game, take ingame preset and load this preset (with decent mouth and brows) to the toolset from my savegame. Can I do it?

You could try doing what BFBHLC said a few posts up, however, I've never done it, so you'd have to ask him how.
I do know how to get to the preset files and view everything, but it's just the files. I can't get a face to load or anything like that.
I mean, theoretically, if you're using the human female preset number....I dunno, 6, you could open up a Human Female face in the morph creator, then go open up the Human Female Preset 6 file and have have like...a screen shot for reference of the actual face and then try to figure it out that way.
I apologize that I can't be more helpful....

No, it's not in the tutorial. You have to go into the actual program files.
And are you being rude on purpose? 'Cuz....that's not very nice.

Out of curiosity, what preset (if any) did you use and for what race? There's 8 face presets for each race/gender.

I just tend to forget about my manners while I write in english. You know this task consumes my brains so much that I sometimes forget to say "thank you".)) Please, forgive me.
When I said that I was rude I've meant I didn't say "thank you". I hope I wasn't rude in other sense of the word?

I' used black girl preset (3th or 4th) for a human female: and I've got a real nice white girl http://img253.images...i/daocloud.jpg/
from that. And what about a male elf, I just don't remember. Maybe it was 4th or 5th preset.

No, you weren't being rude at all so don't worry about it. English is weird compared to other languages so..it's understandable.

Well, wait a moment, That's Morrigan's hair on her, so you've obviously already created the face in the toolset to use it on her since Morrigan's hair isn't available in the regular Character creator.
Now, going from that, are you wanting to know how to find the file of her head to put on someone else or to change it some more or both?

Hey people. I'm looking up on the forums & can't find a "how to tutorial" for making custom weapons & armor. Can someone send me the link to where it's at, if there is one. Thank you in advance.

I've not done it myself, but I bookmark them for future use: http://social.biowar.../5339/blog/576/
I would assume you would pretty much do the same thing with armor, but you should probably ask her about it.

No. I've downloaded mod with Morrigan's hair and just took it when I created my girl.))
I want to:

1. Take this ingame head (preferably from my saved game).
2. Load or open this head in the toolset (just like in your tutorial, but starting with this head, not the basic).
3. Tweak it somewhat (eyes, nose, brows).
4. Put new face in my saved game to play.

I see....as far as starting with her head as is, I'm honestly not sure, aside from us figuring out if we can back up your save file and send me a copy to mess with it and find out for myself since I don't have the same files as you, but...that seems time consuming and messy and it's 4am and Thanksgiving, so if you wanted me to, we could try, but it would have to be after the holidays.. But..is this close to what she looks like?

It is close. You're truly a master!
Lower lip isn't that close, but it's easy to change.
How did you make it?

It would be perfect if she resembled Cloud Strife from the movie Final Fantasy: Advent Children. http://img187.images.../cloudorig.jpg/

From what I understand, there was someone working on making Clouds hair, among several other characters from the Final Fantasy games, but I don't know how far they got, or if they're even still trying. I'm sure someone wil have something similar to it given the time though.

Now we're getting somewhere ^_^
It seems to me that the mod you downloaded replaced an existing preset with that of Morrigan's face with some tweaking to it from the makers liking.

What you need to do is follow the tutorial I made for making Duncan's head, but instead, you're going to pick the Human Female head.

You're still going to go to tab "15. Unique Shapes" and turn Morrigan's all the way (if you're wanting to keep that as your main facial structure).

For the hair, you're going to open it up like in my Duncan tutorial (the all filters thing) and you're going to want to find the file labeled "hf_har_mora_0"

And then go from there as far as changing it how you're wanting it.

Does this make sense?

Yes, of course. You've explained it very thoroughly.

It's not like I've taken Morri's face, no I'm sure 'twas 3th or 4th preset in human_female faces in the ingame character creator.
But Morri will do. I saw your modification of h_fem with Morri's hair on the first page of this topic and she is beautiful. The main problem is Morrigan's  bottom lip. It's just too full for Cloud but I think I'll figure something out.

Your help is very appreciated, thank you so much for giving me such good and proper advices. #^__^#

Now my only question is "how do I take face from my char (created with ingame char_creator) and give it to my another char via toolset. Is there a way at all?))

Thanks again.

If it's part of the in game character creator, then there's not any need to use the toolset. Unless you're wanting to put as female's head on a male body which I don't believe is possible. I think it would end up like when I tried to put Morrigan's hair on a female elf, her hair floated above her a good ways and you could see into the back of her head. I would assume that if you put a female head on a male body, the head would be in the chest, meanwhile if you tried to put a male head on a female body, the head would flost above the body.

You're welcome. I hope I helped in some way. I, however, must go to sleep now. It's almost 5am and I have to get up in 4 hours.

haha, I've tried it already))) It was funny: floating head and all.

I want to make more narrow chin and jaw, and with char_creator it looks ugly. But in the toolset I can change a shape of the neck in much more ways. And with that it's not ugly at all. I want more narrow lips. Well, I see that toolset is more attuned to little changes than the char_creator, and being the perfectionist that I am I just can't sit back and relax while my girl is a poor resemblance of Cloud.)) I want an exact copy and I cannot do it ingame.))
