Has anyone written a step-by-step example for editing the 2DA files? Particularly creating the ones that just contain the modified stats and how to link them to the default files? I tried looking at the Wiki, and while I get an idea of where to look for the different information, I didn't find it to be much of a tutorial and more just a general description of what they are.
Also, has anyone had any luck yet finding where in those files the switch that identifies a weapon type as 1H vs. 2H and what it's attack speed is are located? Most of the attack/damage stats are in one 2DA, but oddly those aren't there.
Couple 2DA File ?'s

Wait a minute, I think I'm on to something...
In BITM_BASE.xls, there's another tab before item stats: BITM_BASE. There's a column there called "Speed" and another called "Weapon Wield."
I think "Speed" is pretty self explanatory. However I'm seeing several columns of interest:
Wear R
Wear L
Wield R
Wield L
Weapon Wield
Now, looking at all the 1H weapons you have:
WearR - 5
WearL - 10
WieldR - 14
WieldL -15
Weapon Wield - 2
All 1H weapons--daggers, swords, axes and maces--are the same
Compare to the 2H weapons:
WearR - 5
WearL - 5
WieldR - 14
WieldL - ****
Weapon Wield - 3
I am willing to BET that those stats have something to do with whether the weapon is used with 1H or 2H.

I think you want to check social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/BITM_base.xls
It explains the wear columns but not the wield one. Its that wield one that I suspect determines what hands you can equip it in. Looks like 0 = can't wield, 1 = any hand, 2 = main hand, 3 = two handed
