Is Mass Effect 2 your favorite Bioware game?

I admit that Mass Effect 2 is a masterpiece and I rank it right up there with Mass Effect 1. The problem is those pesky sound glitches that occur on occasion. My main ones being when it cuts off in the middle of the fight between Samara and Morinth, and Shepard not saying anything when he/she picks up the shotgun upgrade on the Purgatory even though the subtitles clearly show there are words being spoken.

Not first, but close.
1.) Baldur's Gate series (I can no longer seperate these games from one another. If I had to, BG1 would place 3rd or 4th) - Amazing story, fantastic characters, great old school tactical combat, and epic as all get out. No other RPG compares for me. Besides a slightly unintuitive interface, nothing stands out as a flaw to me. Even the graphics, as old as this game is, are fantastic with each map beautifully painted in 2d. 10/10
2.) Mass Effect 2 - One of the most entertaining and visceral combat systems of all time, fantastic characterization of Bioware's best cast (even above BG2 imo), and all of the individual storylines and world building of the game just make the universe feel so alive. The episodic approach and smaller dramas of the game give it much more emotional weight than the first game ever did. 9/10
3.) Dragon Age - A flawed gem. The combat hearkens back to the tactical old school combat of BG2, though it doesn't have near the depth or complexity of that system and lacks variety in the fights so it gets repetitive fast. The story is completely forgettable, however it has an excellent cast which somewhat makes up for it. 8/10
4.) Jade Empire - This game is remembered most fondly for its fascinating setting. Bioware did an incredible job utilizing Chinese mythology, a subject that is just plain underutilized. Unfortunately, the combat was boring and poorly implemented and the story, while decent, didn't feel as impactful as it could have. The cast in this game is quite strong, though somewhat forgettable. 6/10
5.) Mass Effect - This game is almost schizophrenic in its highs and lows. On the high end, the setting is fabulous and the story, while being fairly uninspiring on its own, was told very well. Also the presentation of the game was outstanding... only succeeded by Bioware in its sequel. On the low end, the combat is an absolute chore and the RPG mechanics bioware implemented into the game were badly done. The Mako was fun for about 15 minutes and afterward became even less fun than the on foot combat. While the sense of exploration in visiting unexplored planets was nice in concept, the copy paste environments and repetitiveness of the side missions ruined it. Also the cast was probably Bioware's most forgettable. 5/10
6.) KoTOR - Baby's first wrpg. The "combat" system was as engaging as watching someone else watch a sporting event, the story was (in true Star Wars fashion) extremely dull, and the cast was nearly universally grating (with the exceptions of Jolee and HK). The idea of setting the game thousands of years before the films was a great idea, and for its part I think it executes the idea well, but unfortunately there's just not a very good game behind it. I get that this game gets a lot of praise because the fact is it was many people's first experience with wrpgs, but for the most part I think it symbolized a fall in Bioware oversimplifying things for their first console venture. 4/10
Neverwinter Nights - Can't really rate. The game experience varies from Baldur's Gate heights in its custom user generated content and parts of Hordes of the Underdark to KoTOR lows with its OC. It's mainly a multi-player game, so I don't really feel comfortable "rating" it since it really works on different levels.

Indeed. I hated it at first, but I grew to love it. I just needed to adjust the change.

I'd say ME1 is still my favorite but ME2, along with KotOR and DAO, are not far behind. Of my top 10 games those 4 are all in it. What can I say... I love Bioware's style of games.

1. Jade Empire
2. Mass Effect
3. KoToR
4. Baldur's Gate
5. Dragon Age
ME2 was very good, but it was not what I really wanted. I honestly felt it was a step back from ME1... more streamlined, and I wish it wouldn't have been. I really wanted a more refined ME1.

No, it's not - I think my list would be something like this:
1) Dragon Age: Origins
2) KotOR
3) Mass Effect
4) Jade Empire
5) Mass Effect 2 (mainly because I feel it failed in its premise)

3rd.
The first two being Mass Effect and KotOR.
On the other hand, I'm tempted to say that ME2 is the best game by BioWare. Still I miss the RPG feautres.
