Did importing my ME2 character delete the saves from my previous game?

Hi.

I just beat the game and then imported my ME2 char so I could play the game on Insanity - this was after I'd carefully managed all my saved games so I could replay key events for future reference, but now it seems I can't access my previous saves... What gives!?

I'm now concerned that I'd have to replay EVERYTHING for char import into ME3, and the reason I'm bleak is because I completed virtually EVERY quest in the game - I did EVERYTHING, and totally Paragon style... And now that I want to play Renegade with my imported ME2 character, I've lost all my Paragon choices/data that I carried over from ME1...

Is there a way to salvage my data, or will I have to replay ME2 Paragon style and redo EVERYTHING?

I wish BW will at least let you know that you're about to trash over 50+ hours of gameplay... Please, someone tell me there's hope for me!! :(

Finally, as an aside, if I import a char from my original ME1 Renegade playthrough, will it trash the current high-level char that I have for ME2 now?

*sigh*

Yeah, sorry, I realised that last night just after I made this post (thank God!) but went to bed straight afterwards (it was past 3am, this game is EVIL! :D)
