HiPS level restriction?

I would like to make it so Shadowdancers cannot use HiPS until level 5 Shadowdancer.

Is there a script out there ...

I dont want to use haks.

You might not need to use haks. A 2da override might be valid, but a more experienced individual would need to weigh in on whether or not overrides of the class feats will work.



Failing that, I can't think of a great way to fix this, sorry.

The time-honored way of doing this is editing the feat out and replacing it on levelup, if you're using nwnx, with either the nwnx_letoscript or nwnx_funcs plugin. If that doesn't appeal, you could simply make a modification to a HIPS limiter script - there are plenty on the vault. This one:

oh I tried editing the feat2da. ..put 5 under minlevel column and 5 under minclasslevel ..then put it in the servers override folder.I dont use nwnx ..Im not that skilled yet. If what Ive done has no effect?

I will look at vault ..thanks.

By no effect, Do you mean that players who already had HiPS still have it?



Changing the 2da's will not effect players that already have the feat.

NWNX isn't that hard, and as Funky said, it'd be a really, really easy solution since there's functions in nwnx_funcs to edit feats. Plus it'd be easy to retroactively apply this change.

I dont mine if what I've done works like your saying Lightfoot8 because only a handful of players.



I have read about nwnx...

I have Vista on home computer where I use toolset with partition and Linux on the other side because Linux has capabilities Vista doesnt



I run the mod on a Host server running 64 bit Linux without the capablity of connecting with programs like puddy.



So if there is a forum where I could just download files and it tells me specifically where to place them ..I would be comfortable trying nwnx.

I am just a humble cut n paster so if I cannot just place it ..I will get lost in the sea of scripting.

Consider using nwnx_easy. The folks I've worked with had some troubles with it and I eventually had to fidget with the code and add things you probably won't be comfortable doing yourself, but we never found out why that was, so hopefully it'll be easier on you.

Ahh I read instructions to nwnx2 I understood to put these in my NWN directory ( nwnstartup.sh, nwnx2.ini, nwnx2.so and nwnx_*.so ) I also did the wrapper script to launch nw_server...I feel like the documentation needs more detaail because where do the other 30 scripts go ?Where do the plugins go etc.....

You should find all the instructions you need on the forum download link. Other plugins go in the NWN directory as well, unless the plugin-maker says otherwise. The best place to ask questions of this sort is likely to be the NWNX forums. You may also want to try nwnx_easy, as NorthWolf suggested - it was intended for beginning nwnx users.

If you want "general advice", most of the other scripts don't go anywhere. You need them to compile into the nwnx_*.so files, but once you've run a compiler and gotten those .so's, you're done with them.

Though it's best to read the instructions, as Funky said.
