I'm getting a digital copy also via EA download manager right now (available at EAStore.com) - I'll post the results if it works...

Okay I have just tried reinstalling the game 4 times already. Graphics drivers are updated my PC meets the specs required and the installer STILL keeps crashing before it is fully installed.
This is an absolute joke and after searching for help it is obviously a problem for quite a few people. Why is no-one from Bioware or EA doing anything about this? I just want to know how to install the damn game that I forked out $70 for.

Just a note. Some people have solved installer issues with this solution http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 This might help some people who are having problems with installers especially from Steam

Same problem as very first post here.... Windows 7: Second Ultimate Edition disc with Awakening on it ends installation with an error message.... I cannot believe that anyone from Bioware has not picked up and responded to this yet... I hope a patch can be released but I'm sending mine back to amazon in the hope of a refund.

I also have this same problem, I put in disc 2 to install the game, and the game says "installation failed" with absolutely no further explanation.
Has anyone addressed this problem, or is DAO UE just a scam by bioware? Im kinda upset at this collosal waste of my time.

Other than the original author of the opening message in the thread, no one else has paid the slightest attention to where they are. This is not Official Support, no matter what they named the forum. It's PC Tech, for gamers to discuss problems with one another, and there is an established procedure to follow for problem reporting.

Here's the issue (if I'm right):
The DVD is detecting that you're using a writable/re-writable DVD drive and it fails the installation because it just assumes you pirated the game.
Solution 1: Install the game on a disc drive that is not writable/re-writable.
Solution 2: May be against the TOS, but I haven't really checked.

Tothe people that installed DAO Ultimate from copying the discs to your computer hard drive.. what did you do about disc 2? I can start installing from my hard disk copy, but it hangs at Disc 2 and doesn't know how to find the disc in my system, nor have I found a way to tell the installer to look at my hard disk instead.
Solution?

I've met the same problem. Actually, I met /all/ the problems described in the thread and I am still at a loss on how to resolve it. I bought my game from the internet, the store is about 760 miles away from where I live and I do not feel the slightest impetus to go, post it back to them when I've already registered the CD-Key and am eager to enjoy all the benefits of DA: Ultimate. So, does anyone know any workarounds?

Hard to troubleshoot without more details... please read this post:

... and then create a NEW thread with all the information it calls for.
Thanks,
