I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out a good build for what I plan to play as but I just can't figure it out.

I
want to play a melee focused jedi, using dual light sabres(or just 1
double) using things like flurry and burst of speed to just wreck
everything.

I'm not sure what to use for abilties. I see most
people max Str instead of Dex, but dex would give the same benifits only
you'd get +5 ac instead of +5 dmg when capping them both at 20. Which
getting hit less seems to be a much better perk.

I'm also not
sure which class to start off with. Soldier/guardian seems best for what
I want to do, tons of feats and great for combat...though I don't want
to be completely useless skill-wise, either.

So...which would be the best class combo for what I want to do? and what abilties would you recommend?

Edit: Also, which feat tree should I focus on? I hear power attack is ok but the -3 to attack is annoying. Furry is good but it only gives you 1 attack, so it doesn't really scale much in the end. Lastly, I hear critial strike scales the best, considering if you have 4 attacks they'd all have a higher chance to crit AND stun.

well I think you should start with soldier because you get Power Attack right off the bat and your Strength is high.

True but I'd be JUST combat. I was thinking scoundrel, since I'd atleast get some useful feats like persuasion, plus I'd beable to repair my assassin droid.

problem with scoundrel is they get almost no feats :-/

Scout is a much better choice than Soldier, even for a Guardian. You get the free implant feats not to mention a much better skill selection (making things like droid repair much easier). I used a solider my very first time playing the game, but after using a scout in my second, I'd never think of playing anything else.

If you're going to be a dual wielder, don't go the Power Attack rout. Max out Flurry. I always use a high dex build (EVEN when I go single saber) so this makes the defense penalty negligible. You might want to get the first level of Power Attack to help when you're facing heavily armored enemies or to quickly dispatch low AC enemies, but it's not a must. Sometimes I don't take it at all and I really don't miss it that much.

What I typically do with my build is to start out with 14 Str and 15 Dex and put all 5 attribute points into Dex. I find that a high AC trumps damage. I put more into my other attributes for RP purposes because of personal preference, and because, frankly, the game isn't difficult enough to warrant min/max techniques in my opinion. And don't forget that you will be getting plenty of great gear to boost Str if you so desire.

Max out your wisdom. You aim to be a jedi after all. High Wisdom means more Force.

If he wants to be a Jedi Counselor, sure, but otherwise?

You could try to be a scoundrel until you leave yaris, to get lots of skill points, then select guardian(the max melee jedi IIRC) to max out your feats. That would be like switching to a Jedi soldier. Crit is better than flurry IMO.

Crit is indeed very good, but I would at least level Flurry to the second rank. For a dual wielder, it's a fantastic combat skill.
