I'm looking forward to playing games on PC because they look like they run smoothly than the console. The reason why I'm turning to the PC is that there are going to be great games for 2011 (TES:V, R.A.G.E., Crysis 2, Diablo 3, and maybe Two Worlds II). Problem is that the specs on my computer don't meet the requirements to any game. Here are my specs:

OS - Windows 7
Processors - Intel ® Pentium ® D CPU 3.20 GHz
Memory - 4.00 GB RAM
Display adapter - Radeon X1300/X1550 Series (ATI)

That's all I know so far. Which one of these should I focus on? I know I met the OS and memory standard but the processors and display adapter haven't been upgraded since the day it was given to me, which was 2007-08ish.
Which processor and display adapter would you recommend? Since it was Christmas yesterday and haven't got a thing, I'm looking to go to tech stores like Best Buy or Future Shop to have my dad buy me the components I need. What I'm looking for is something inexpensive yet runs smoothly and looks great or decent for games like the ones I named at the first paragraph. I'm also looking for one that I don't haveto change time to time because the game requires you to, unless it's really neccessary.

Thanks :kissing:

With a machine that old, you're likely better off buying an entirely new machine. To change the processor to a new one, you're basically looking at replacing your motherboard. Which also includes replacing your memory, likely your power supply, possibly your video card too..

Computers have a lifespan of about 3-4 years as the above poster said it's probably about time you bought a new one. The latest games are becoming more demanding on hardware and require more powerful systems to run.

Have a look at the kind of games you want to play and the reccomended specs and try to model your system on that.
