Ok . I have been trying for awhile now to play ME2 and it runs for a bit and like clockwork it stops responding. So needless to say I don't really want to invest alot of game hours into it when I know the Dreaded " ME2 has stopped responding " and the only option I have is to close it.

So I will tell you about what I have for a system. Which is very capable. Os. Win 7 64 bit , Mobo Asus P7P55D Pro , CPU I7 860 2.8 , Vid Card Asus 5970 with Catlyst 10.12 , Ram 16 gigs G.Skill Ripjaws 1600mhz , HD WD 1TB Corvair Black , Heatsink Frozone , Case Thermaltake Sword 6 fans , PSU 850W Mod. Monitor Samsung syncMaster 2343.

All drivers are up to date. I am at a lost there is no lag either. Looks great it just lets me play for like a 1/2 hr and stops. Any help with this would be great. Thanks to all who help.

Have you installed the 1.02 patch?

What version of DirectX you running? ME2 specifically requires DX9.0c. Will run with later versions, but can have problems. Win7 is capapble of having both DX9.0c and 10/11 runtimes installed side by side.

I don't know what ME2 is trying to run ? I am capable of running DirectX 11. I really don't know how to run whatever is going to be best for the game ? Unless it's in user setting in the game menu ? I never thought of it. I will look into it. Thanks

Couldnt say, as I dont have a problem with Fallout NV. But ME2 definately requiers Directx9.0c. You can either download and install it from Microsofts website, or install it from the game disc. Look for a folder called DirectX.
