I love voicing the lines myself. I feel like an idiot, but I like pretending I can sound professional. Teehee.

That's what I do. In fact, while watching the trailers I would pause for a moment right when the dialogue choices appeared and i'd say them out as if I was the voice actor.

Apparantly I do this also.. At least that's what I've been told...  I guess I just read outloud and unawares.

Considering that we are talking about DA:O and the resources that were available for its production; i.e not in the future, I fail to see what your point is.

Can't admit when you are wrong, now can you? You didn't say it seemed that way. You stated it as a fact.
How did you put it? "I guess we can say you didn't read your own post carefully to need to back track on your original assertion like that. Neener neener, see the clever shot?"

Yes, in my post first stating that, I did state it as fact. That's because, like I explained in my very next post after you explicitly said you were referring to a sequel, that's how it seemed to me. I didn't have any reason to think otherwise until you explicitly pointed it out. Your mention of SWTOR implied to me that DA:O could have pulled the same off with their resources, given that TOR is a modern game. As you said before, it wasn't my fault that it seemed like you were suggesting something else. I'm perfectly aware that I had to back track after realizing the error in communication.

Okay, listen. I'm tired of talking to you as you don't seem to be interested in the discussion itself but just in arguing specific sentences so you can have that warm fake feeling of being right. If you have something to say about the last sentence in my previous post (something constructive for a change would be nice) out with it! If not then this "discussion" is over.

That's perfectly fine, and I don't have any problem with you wanting to have optional PC voice over in future DA installments. I do have a problem if you're going to pretend that you're not just as obstinate as me, though. ;)

Yeah, it seemed to you that way. And you were wrong. Is it that difficult to say?
This was part of my first post in this thread:

It wasn't your fault to think I suggested that resources and time were not relevant and I already apologized for that as I wasn't as clear in my post as I had hoped. You still falsly stated that I was talking about DA:O. Would have been a lot easier if you would have just said that it was wrong assumption.

Nah, I'm as stubborn as they come. And I wouldn't try to pretend otherwise. A more sensible person than me would have long left this thread. Posted Image The difference I see between us is that I was not only trying to pick at your verbalisations (though I did that too) but actually wanted to discuss the topic here. But  you finally commented on that too, so I think we can shake hands now and leave this thread in peace. I still want that poll though. ;-)

Right. I know that you were saying it would become a standard in the future, but, like I said before, your mention of SWTOR implied to me that you were saying it was not impossible for it to be done now. The juxtaposition of the TOR mention and part of your post that you quoted made me think that you were just saying it was a missed opportunity, and that future RPGs would follow the example of TOR.

I've no problem with telling you I interpreted what you were saying wrong, and told you in my last post that I back tracked after you made it clear, but again, the problem was you continually saying it was my fault in misunderstanding, rather than the ambiguity of your point up to that point. That's why I proceeded to mockingly point out any misunderstandings on your part. Note the obnoxious remarks in parentheses.

Sir, the entire problem behind the confusion was that I was discussing the topic. You'll note that the topic was about DA:O. My first post directed towards you was indeed referring to the issue of PC VO in DA:O. :) This is the main reason for any assumption on your point on my part. But yes, no hard feelings.

Yes, but we could have come to a quicker conclusion if you would have just accepted that it was a misunderstanding on your part (even though it might have been because of the thread title or TOR) and accepted that I had not been talking about DA:O here. Posted Image
Ah, whatever. I think I will not be able to quote for a while as I have done it so extensively for the last few hours. Gotta admit you were quite a hard nut but I guess that can be said about me too. After all our opinions on future games wasn't that different so I'd say it wasn't for naught to have romped about in this thread. I will however chose my words very carefully next time I see you anywhere in a thread I'm planning to post in. Guess you will do the same. It's just way too stressful to sort out any misunderstandings afterwards. Posted Image

No problems. One thing, though: although I do agree that future games probably will go in that direction, I don't think that they should. I would prefer the effort go to different areas in games like DA:O, but that's just me being a selfish traditionalist. :)

I personally would have not minded either way. If they did the voice acting in the same cinematicesque of Mass Effect and likeness in Mass Effect then I'll be fine. Although my Shepard did strangely sound exactly how I thought he would sound. I also liked how the choices were not as you would expect them to be, I thought when Shepard punched that reporter in the face was one of the funniest/best moments in the game. I wouldn't minded having two or even one full voiced PC.

Although when I was in character creator I found it nice to be able to choose a voice for your character but was a little disappointed to only find six choices, (as opposed to Neverwinter Nights which had at least 6; I was especially fond of the sociopath, manic and high-strung voices), so my character doesn't sound exactly how I imagined but whatever. DA:O still looks amazing.
