Why are you going with the unchangeable companion outfits again when it was obviously met with disgust in Mass effect 2? People do not play RPGs to not be able to customize. take a hint. thx

Yes, why give all the characters their own unique design when you can just make them wear Generic Armour #57?

Choice man! Let's say you're hanging out with someone religious. They keep kosher. You say - eat this pork. Not letting you do that is take away your choice! Why should the writers tell you what is character consistent or not?

Now, on a serious note, I do think we ought to have more than one custom outift per companion. The problem with that is resources. But that would be the ideal. That a single custom outfit is much better (IMO) than several generic ones does not mean having a choice of custom outfits is not even better than that.

I'm NOT hanging out with someone who keeps food products liable to emit offensive odor. Thank you.

Loghain and his cheese. Yuck.

The armor system for DA2 is similar to ME2's in the sense that companions only have a select few unique armors instead of being able to wear any armor like DA:O.

It is different to ME2's system however because armors will not simply be sh*tty reskins and you'll still be able to upgrade stats and whatnot with belts/rings/etc.

Do people make a habit of dressing their friends and work colleagues?

Ah, I've been wondering who I was going to turn to about my visa problems in Ferelden. It doesn't last much longer and I wanna stay!

I need more info on how this works. Have they released how much variance there is between the armors. Meaning does Isabella have 8 or 9 different armors or 1 or 2 that you flip between? If there's some variety then I'm fine with this decision but if it's relatively close to the way ME2 dealt with outfits I'll be pretty pissed.

What an oddball. Everybody does that! Join the club WW.

Another X Syndrome thread? What's up with that? Is that a popular trolling word?

I read that as Ass Mage.

Why, I have no clue. Perhaps because I wanted to. Hmm.

The ass mage was the original name for the force mage spec.

It isn't like Mass Effect 2. You don't get new outfits for your companions after their loyalty mission, as far as I know.

In DAII, you find new sets of armor for your companions that have different stats. The only difference between the system in Origins and the system here is that armor for your companions comes in sets.

Prepare to be pissed, then.

My understanding of the system is that there isn't going to be any real choice in the outfits. When you get an upgraded outfit for someone, the new one will be flat-out better than the previous one so it would just be irrational to keep the old one on.

There will be customization of combat functionality in the accessories, but the outfits themselves will be static. Appearance might have even less player choice than in ME2.

I'm all for specialized outfits. I'd use Morrigan's "specialized" robes over the generic (ugly) mage robes any day of the week.
But as already said, you can change/upgrade outfits. Just not in the same way as origins.

If that disappoints you, then you can always get the PC version and mod it yourself ;)

You can change outfits statistically supposedly but visually they're staying the same unless the plot demands it change.

And without a toolset update, there won't be much modding going on.

There's bound to be one sooner or later.
