There is a mod available which will allow him as a companion. You should be able to find it quickly with a Search.

Seems most of the people here read the post wrong, He said his computer is not good enough to run dragon age, so he can't run the mods.

But I've never really been a fan of him.

i'm with you.

he was about to be recruited as a grey warden (so no, not a red shirt), then sacrificed his life to save the cousland line. that's pretty dang awesome stuff, and it's a pity he gets killed off.

but yeah, there is this mod... and it's given me the inspiration to actually play the game again. wasn't really interested until i saw that and figured i'd give it a try.
