This game is loved by many people but for some reason, it seems like the PS3 gamers aren't very excited about Mass Effect 2?

Is that just me or did anyone else notice this? I played the demo and it is pretty representative to the game if you ask me. I wonder how this is happening?

And you're basing this on what, exactly? Is there a comprehensive census of PS3 gamers' reception of the ME2 demo?

Well, I visit a couple of forums and on pretty much every site PS3 gamers don't seem too excited. Can't be coincidence?

Are they outraged? That is usually the better barometer of whether people are excited or not. I'm not familiar with people flocking to the forums to praise a game, its usually the opposite.

I think they were expecting it to look better than the 360/pc versions so that they can throw it in our faces. Didn't turn out like that though...

Why would they be excited? They have no reason to be eager.

I am not even sure sales with tell. How many PS3 owners have a 360 or have a computer or both, and might already have it.(I know I have all the consoles a PC and have it already) If it had come out simo you could see the difference in sales. Now you have to hope a lot of people are willing to buy it again, if you want the same numbers and excitement.

That's a good point. I've got a PC, 360, and got a PS3 last March. As much as I like Mass Effect, I've already got ME1 on 360/PC and ME2 on PC...I won't be buying ME2 for PS3.

To be fair though it does set them up for big sales of ME3.

I think that since ps3 owners are very loyal to their ps3 and dislike xbox owners they are always going to be mad they got it almost a year later.

Plus they probably expected to get something extra but not really infact many things are taken away from their me2 playthrough because they only get the 6 choices in their little comic.

This.

Their excitement - at least for now - is no different than your excitement for a new IP.

The only excitement that they would have is that the XBOX doesn't have any good exclusives anymore.

Console fanboys, lol.

Not to get this off topic or anything, but I put all of the settings on the PC ME2 to the max and it still looks worse than the xbox version in regards to textures. It's noticeable on the backdrops for hub worlds like Omega, Citadel, and Illium also. It looks blurry in the background since it's one big texture. Why?

They even considered that? I thought 360s had less powerful hardware but you could have better graphics on them because of the way they handle data or something? And obviously it won't look better than the PC version, that'd be a world turned upside down.

Yea I never understood the whole fanboy 360 vs ps3 thing the way I see it the whole things pretty stupid especially considering most of them have little to no experience with the system they're criticising

I only have a ps3 and am thrilled ME2 is coming to ps3 and intend on getting it the day of release and don't really care about other versions of the game, however I dont really feel the need to get on a bunch of forums to tell everyone who will listen that I'm excited about it, I'd imagine that there's other ps3 owners who feel similar but obviously I can't speak for everyone

there are some PS3 gamers not excited by ME2 because after an extra year of development and an updated graphics engine, they're still getting an inferior product.

i would be fine with bioware never making another PS3 title.

trhis...I've never seen a game/pülattform forum where people go to say that they're excited for a game or where they come in to praise it.
Its usually to discuss details or complain/state a rather negativ opinion.

I have read some of the negative responses on the web concerning the demo, but I think there will be plenty of interested people in PS3 land. But honestly I am not expecting big sales for it. I think much of the sales will come from the people who already own it on 360/PC but feel the need (for whatever kind of reason) to buy it again. It's also possible some people won't be interested stepping in in the middle of a trilogy. Even when I'm interested in buying a sequel, I usually pick up the first game beforehand. People with a PS3 can't.

As a PS3 owner and Mass Effect fan, I'm quite excited. Any excuse to play ME2 without using my souped up level 30 Shepards is a blessing.

But it's the truth!

Nah, j/k, all consoles are born equal. On a more serious note, yes all of the gaming systems have their own advantages and disadvantages, so it's stupid to compare them.

The game is almost a year old, now. A good portion of the folks who would have been interested have probably had a chance to experience it on either the 360 or the PC, and even those who haven't are probably familiar with the game. They may still purchase, play, and enjoy it, but it's not new and exciting in the way that the game was this time last year.

Those who have PS3 and like Mass Effect probably either already bought it to their 360/PC and therefore feel no need to buy it a second time, like is my case

.

To me, this feels more like a launching pad for ME3 in the PS3 than it is to sell more copies of ME2, honestly.
