I just bought Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum and noticed it included both expansions but not the Adventure Pack, Mysteries of Westgate. What's the difference between an expansion pack and an adventure pack? Is Mysteries of Westgate required?
Question about Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum on Steam

The expansion packs are the ones called Mask of the Betrayer and Storm of Zehir. These were developed by Obsidian, just like the main game.
The adventure pack is Mysteries of Westgate and is sorta... Something between an expansion pack and the DLCs we see nowadays. It was developed by another developer called Ossian studios. The Adventure Packs were originally meant to be an ongoing thing alongside expansions, smaller but a bit cheaper, but unfortunately Atari kinda messed the release of Westgate up and it was delayed a lot so the Adventure Pack program went down the tubes.
You don't need really Mysteries of Westgate for anything but it's a fun campaign to play through once you're done with the main games.

Think of MoW as DLC that's actually worth what you pay for it.

Pretty much that. It's a shame it never caught on because it was great value for the players.

Is MoW compatible with Steam's NWN2 Platinum?

Should be... make sure you launch the Steam version of NWN2 and after that the MoW installer should recognize it.

Well i hope im not of topic here, but i just downloaded nwn2 platinum from steam for the great low price of 9.99. Im glad that i had heard about platinum coming out cause i was going to pay 30.00 for gold edition this week anyway. Well since i downloaded it all starts up fine & then once im in the creator room some of my toons dont have any heads & some just arent there period. Like Dwarf & elfs u click on them & nothing, then some clothes with no body?
So i desided to start the game anyway & see what was what. Well i started out in a room & i still had body parts missing & half the room was black & the other i could see fine. I couldn't get out side to see anything since i couldn't find the chest with the fur? Some things have something like 2d textures missing logo or something with red, yellow, & green colors? Right next to my avatar for examle If anyone knows anything about this please help?!
Guess ill just keep playing NWN online like i have for the past several years till i get er figured out *shrug* Thanks in advance for any advice.
My system is as follows-
ECS mainboard 7075M-M
Amd 5000+ @ 2.6 x 2
4gb OCZ Reaper GDDR2 @ 800MHz
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600
ATI HD 5770 1gb GDDR5

Verify your local files. Sounds like something was corrupted in the install or download.

Another thing to bear in mind is to ensure you have a good verify after download before the installation process begins (if that's possible.) If you get the game to run and the same things happen, try these in this order:
Ensure and verify you have DX9 installed. It won't replace DX11, which comes with Win7, it's going to live side by side with it's younger brother.
If that doesn't solve the issues, please check the level of your Video Card Drivers and, if necessary, roll them back to an earlier driver (some of the newer drivers do not support some of the technology used on older cards -- ATi is much better about this than Nvidia, but it does still occur.) You might also look to ensure on the AMD site: AMD -- ATi Video and Other Drivers Downloads that the driver you are running specifically inludes your model and make of card (I had this issue once with an update, it was a newer update, yet did not specifically include my particular card in it. I rolled back and things were back to normal for me. Updates are not always meant for every card.)
If that still does not fix it, post back here (in a new thread please) and we'll see what can be done to get you sorted out.
best regards and welcome,
