My femshep was going Kaiden till he died of Virmire, which devastated her emotionally and made her stay single through ME2. Only way sh is getting a romance is if its with TIM.

It's not that she doesn't love Liara. She loves her... and any other Asari in the Galaxy. She could die happy if she could romance the Asari Councilor and Shiala =P Better yet, both of them at the same time.

Generally speaking though, I would much prefer that the existing LIs get some support so that we can have some kind of satisfying closure. Saving the galaxy from the Reapers ties up a lot of loose ends, but finishing the romance arcs can't be answered without more story of their own. If it comes down to it, I'd give up the idea of ME3 LIs in order to have closure stories for the existing LIs.

For me, the more options that Bioware gives me, the more playthrus I have. I like to see the variances.

And if you think long and hard enough, you can justify anything.
Ashley/Kaidan loved/still love Shepard and have been coming to terms with their loss for two years only to find out that he/she is working with a terrorist organisation and hasn't even bothered to drop an email, then piles on injury to insult with ''It's been too long Kaidan, how have you been?''
P*ssed?
I would be, wouldn't you?
At least they send an email apologising and making it clear that even after two years they still feel something, same can't be said for old 'no reply Shepard'!![]()
Really the hatred for Kaidan/Ashley can be dumped clearly at BioWare's door, bad writing for Horizon, simple, either that or clever writing so that we might find these new romances as compelling as Casey Hudson kept telling us they would be <_<
It is time players took responsibility for their Shepard's behaviour and stopped blaming the person who loved them most for being justifiably hurt.
I don't think this is fair at all. My mainShep romanced Kaidan in ME1 and I don't consider it cheating that she moved on with Thane after Horizon. After everything they went through in the first game you'd think Kaidan would have some trust for Shepard whether you romance him or not. I can understand he was angry but what part of "I was dead" did he not understand? If you ask Anderson about Kaidan or Ash he won't tell you anything except that they're on a super secret mission or whatever. The game provides you with no way to contact the Virmire survivor or respond to their email. Consider that the alien members of the crew have more reason to hate and distrust Cerberus because of their human dominance dogma but they trust Shepard enough to join the team anyway. Kaidan rather harp about how Cerberus is bad and Shepard is a betrayer and he doesn't care what her reasons are. In less than a few minutes he's made up his mind and storms off. The email he sends later doesn't make up for that in my eyes. From a meta perspective, I know Bioware did this because they wanted the Virmire survivor out of the way. Maybe they have a plan for that character in ME3. That's fine. If other people want to wait and hope to rekindle the relationship with the Virmire survivor that's fine.
But for those that choose to move on it should be fine, too. My Shepard has no interest in rekindling the relationship with Kaidan.
And fair or not it is a valid point. As a pp said people's take on the situation tends to reflect their real life opinions on this kind of thing.
I think you misunderstand if you think I think everyone should be faithful, lol. I just think that if you want to move on and try new things be honest that that is what you want, don't say ''Oh, Kaidan was d*ck, I'm justified'', it is just a game enjoy it
As it happens I like Thane.

I disagree with the notion that Liara isn’t female. BW can refer to her as genderless all they want, but if they really expected us to buy that line of reasoning then she shouldn’t have been drawn as obviously female.
As far as a romance for ME3, all my Shepard’s have remained faithful to Kaidan and will continue to do so. I have no interest in another romance for ME3 although I do hope Joker is a LI just for all the friends I have on the forum that really want him as one.
^This. There are better ways to portray an androgynous race than a Matriarch with tig ol' bitties.
My Shep will always remain true to Kaidan, even if she has to drag him off fireman's carry style like on Virmire.

But I always go Miranda not just for the looks but I really like the plot of the character and matches my shepherd brilliantly especially how them both were created for greatness.
I do feel I will not leave Miranda in ME3 but I do feel i will stick with her through ME3.
Unless she changes for the worse in ME3 like goes to work for an organisation worse than cerberus or something like that or there is a new character i really do prefer over Miranda which I doubt that will happen.
But I doubt that will happen especially considering she wants to make a difference and she changed from at all cost and became more like my shepherd trying to find the way that least effects people.

To each their own. I happen to find Jacob's mental stability a nice refuge from the insane people on my ship, Thane fascinating, and Garrus filled to the brim with adorkable goodness
My FemShep is for Garrus, my ManShep for Miranda. And nothing in ME3 is changing that.

My main LI is Garrus. None of my Shepards could ever think of leaving him no matter what. So no I will not cheat in ME3.
