I think it could be a corrupt file. Reinstall the game and see if that fixes anything. You won't lose your saved files. If you want to play safe, make a backup anyway. Your saves should be in your documents folder under BioWare and Mass Effect.

You're running DirectX 11. ME and ME2 are designed around DX9.0c. Download and install those runtimes and see what happens.
Does it happen if you go back to an earlier save and try again?
As a side note, Win7 is not listed as an officially supported OS.
