When I try to install the free DLC I downloaded I get the message Mass effect 2 is not installed please install mass effect 2 and continue. Does anyone know how to fix this or a way to install the DLC. I am playing the normal not downloaded edition.

I think that happens if you mess with the original .exe file (the shortcut you use to launch the game from the desktop or wherever). Put the original back in place and try again.

First rule of finding solutions to such errors: google the error message. There are already dozens or even hundreds of forum posts about exactly your problem. Like this one.
