So just to get this straight: If I wanted to use a savegame from masseffect2saves.com I would follow these steps:

1. Download the savegame from masseffect2saves.com
2. Use the converter to change it from PC to Xbox 360 and download the "SaveExport.xbsav" file.
3. Create a new career on Mass Effect 2, save it to a USB stick, open the stick with Modio, and then...
4. Inject the SaveExport.xbsav into the career?

Because if I follow these steps and then go to "New game -> Import ME2 Character" the save is visible but I cannot select it or delete it or do anything with it at all.

So I converted my xbox saves to PC and placed them in the ME2 saves folder, and they show up but when I click on them to load nothing happens, yet if I just click on Resume it takes me to the most recent save. Help?

Make a folder in your game save directory and put your saves into it.  You'll be able to load them like normal.  I had the same issue as you when I made the jump from 360 to PC, and that's what I had to do.

To make your life easier, make individual folders for each Shepard (Bob Shepard, Megan Shepard, etc etc) so the saves will be catergorized into individual careers instead of being lumped together under a single Shepard character.

I tried this, but mine still won't load.  I had all of the DLC for 360, but none for PC.  Could that be the issue?

I have this same problem. My saves won't open when I click load. This doesn't actually bother me if I could still import my Shep to ME3. Can anybody comment on this? :?

Just wanted to say thanks Epic for making this available. Wish I had found this much sooner before I pre-ordered the CE for the 360 but hopefully the entitlements will carry across platforms like ME2 did and I can be 100% over on the PC version for ME3. TY TY!

Go to your saves folder and make individual folders for each save.  For example, for Bob Shepard, make a folder named Bob and put all of Bob's saves into the folder.  When you go to load/save, it'll display everything like normal.

edit: Also, you will need the DLC for the PC versions in order for the saves to load if you did DLC on the 360..

Also again, the latest version of Gibbed Save Editor does the job of Epic Legion's site (converting and editing ME1 plot flags without NG+).

Yes, I made individual save folders and I also have all DLC so I don't know what's the problem but again, this doesn't bother me if I can still import my Shepard to ME3. I guess I'll just have to wait and see...

Follow this and it will work
This is for the PC version but it's almost the same as the 360.

The reason it wouldn't let you load the save up was because you had to change the head morph.

Hi sorry but I'm somewhat slow when it comes to things like this. I downloaded a save from masseffectsaves to use since my PC saves were wiped and I wanted to convert ME2 saves for use on my 360. I have Modio and Gibbed and my thumb drive is set but I can't seem to get the saves to show up on it when it's plugged into my 360. Can someone help me? Do I need to start a new game with ME2 on my 360 then inject the save file into the career? Message me if you don't want to post a long explanation since I probably need one...thanks

I have the exact same problem, I don't get it either.
Wish masseffectsaves had an xbox section that i could import into gibbed and then inject with modio :)
They may add ME3 saves or start saves soon but i kinda want them now :P

I am also trying to convert my ME2 PC saves into Xbox 360 saves to use in ME3 since my computer is too old to run ME3. I have used the converter tool but when I try to get the files onto the xbox via my Xbox-formatted thumb drive, they don't show up. Any help on this (aka a detailed step-by-step walkthrough) would be greatly appreciated, I noticed that the others who have had this issue with the originally PC files over the past few weeks haven't received a response either, the only step-by-step guides in this thread involve converting files that started out as Xbox files...

I'm getting the same issue with it not loading - I've got all DLC, what's this about head morphs not working? How do I change this?

Yes, you're both going to have to start a new game of ME2 so you have something to inject the files into.

Ok, thanks for the advice, I was actually able to get ahold of ME2 for the Xbox and I created an Xbox container file, but now I'm wondering how to make it so that the PC save that I converted into an Xbox save will show up as a save game when I move it back to the xbox. Do I simply inject the converted save into the container file alongside the existing save that I created on the Xbox, or do I somehow replace the Xbox save files with my converted one?

I still have this issue, but I have the default head, so it can't be the head morph...

What version of Modio is everyone using?  I'm on 4 Beta, maybe that's my problem?  I just took a quicksave from PC, converted it to .xbsav with Epic Legion's site, and inserted it into my Xbox Me2 save container.  I re-hashed and saved to device, of course.

Doesn't do anything when I try to load the game.  Wonder what I'm doing wrong. :(

I own Mass Effect 1 and 2 for the 360 and I bought ME3 for the PC hoping to transfer my saves there. Do I have to buy ME2 for the PC to make the transfer possible?

@Aerofallosov....
I would recommend finding version 3 of modio, I tried using the 4 beta and couldn't get my file to even show up after using it. Plus, the thread that contains a guide as to how to transfer/convert files references version 3.

I seem to be getting an error now from that link, maybe due to the ME3 launch tonight? lol seems I'm like I'm not the only one that played ME1 and ME2 on PC and now jumping to xbox for ME3 and I dont want to loose all the progress I have made in the previous two games... I feel like this should not be so hard :(. jumping to xbox only because 99% of my friends are console gamers and would like to play co-op and multiplayer with them.

The error reads:
An error was detected which prevented the loading of this page. If this problem persists, please contact the website administrator.

system/libraries/drivers/Database/Mysql.php [61]:

mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: User 'legion_me2' has exceeded the 'max_connections_per_hour' resource (current value: 2000)

then a bunch of web jargon. will this be able to alleviate itself?

The error went away and I was able to convert my .pcsav file to the .xbsav file. And now to my understanding from reading further in the thread, I have to create a new shepard and then "inject" the saved file using modio (I'm using modio 4 beta since I could not download modio 3 w/o logging in not sure if there is a huge difference).

My question is am I able to just convert my pcsav file that has completed a playthrough of the game on PC to an xbsav file then use this file to "import" my shepard into a new game of ME3 (at the menu of ME3 when you start a new game). Or do I have to create a "dummy" shepard to start a new ME3 game then use modio to inject my shepard onto this save file? that seems like it would not work since I assume that the save files for ME2 and ME3 would be read differently by the xbox and PC

I hope that question makes sense I just want to use my completed playthrough of ME2 on PC to start off ME3 on the xbox. Hopefully I'm not out of luck or else I'll be sad :((( lol

**Update** ok so after converting my pcsav to the SaveExport.xbsav using the converter I try to open the xbsave with Modio 4 Beta.  It gives me the error "There was an error when attempting to open your save, Invalid Xbox Package"  In the guide "How to mod ME2 for the Xbox 360" it only goes through the steps starting with an xbox save file, Is it not working because I started with a .pcsav file to a "SaveExport.xbsav" and not an actual save from an xbox?

Would I need to get a hold of a xbox copy of ME2 and create a new ME2 game on the xbox and use this "shell" save file to inject my pc shepard into?

**Update #2** I tried using Modio 3.0 and it gives me the same Invalid Package error when trying to open the SaveExport.xbsav file.  Giving up for the night....Please and thank you so much for anyone who may be of assistance

I am getting the same issues from the webserver, I guess it's going to be down till people relax. Seems to cap out after 2000 people use it in an hour. Shame you can't just make it a zip so people can run it locally.
