I think y'all just claim to be celtic because it's more cool than being Anglo these days! Besides, if my last trip to London is any indication most British aren't even European

That is a good point. There main difference there, of course, is genetic isolation from spread of disease, that doesn't exist within the Old World to the same degree.
The classic archaeological example is of an an ancient skeleton found in a cave, I forget where in the UK. Wanting to work out which group he came from, they compared his DNA to modern DNA from across the UK and Ireland, only to find the closest match was a man who'd lived all his life in the village just down the road.
Oh, and Craig, the only thing "Celtic" about me is my name. "Celtic" in many ways is an artificial construction, lumping together several groups. I'm very English.
