Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a stickler for political correctness, but it'd be nice to see more ethnically diverse humans in ME3, since we are going to Earth. To date in the first two games we've had:

Hindu
Samesh Batia

Japanese
Maeko Matsuo
Kasumi Goto
Keiji Okuda

English
Zaeed Massani
Dr. Gavin Archer
David Archer
Dr. Chakwas

Scottish
Kenneth Donnelly

Australian
Miranda Lawson

French
Lieutenant Girard
Dr. Chloe Michel

South African
Donovan Hock

Hispanic
Vido Santiago

Chinese
Emily Wong
Ethan Jeong

You seem to be mixing ethnicities with nationalities here.

Sheploo is Canadian, might wanna put that in there.

I personally want to see an extremely African individual. Not like Kanye West African, I mean like Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje African. Black as midnight, and with an extremely thick west/east African accent.

If it was a chick I would be turned on instantly.

Dr. Chloe Michel from the wards in ME1 had an eastern European/Russian accent, didn't she?

Plus the guy in Noveria.

(I am bad with accents.)

There's also a French C-Sec Officer as part of the Colonist-only mission on the Citadel in ME1. That's nationality, though. To be honest, the humans in the ME galaxy seem pretty diverse already. There are whites and blacks and asians, even a Hindu as the OP points out. I mean, do we need a crippled Asian girl in a wheelchair with a pink mohawk or something? To badly misquote Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Mass Effect is by far the most "ethnically diverse" game I've ever played. What exactly do you think they need to do to improve on this? There are only so many characters to go around. In some cases the white/other ratio is almost even. What other games can say that?

She was more French.

I think Dr. Cohen is Jewish.

The series has a pretty diverse set of characters. Fact is I'm left wondering if Bioware got their inspiration from a Benetton catalog.

Fai Dan -Chinese

Arcelia Silva Martinez- Latina/Hispanic

Would Kaiden (Alenko) qualify as Russian/Eastern European, or is he Canadian above all else?

I'm not sure if Zaeed's actually English, I thought he might have been a cockney but it sounded like an Afrikana occasionly. I've heard most of the English's accents and I have no idea what Bioware was going for. And Ken had the oddest Scottish accent I have ever heard. Daddy bags indeed.

Maybe they can't do anything with Mass Effect (though they can tone down remove the cliched noble black male votes himself for the suicide mission bit...God that is way beyond annoying), but they can give us decently written games with protagonists from different backgrounds (that includes women).

Actually, I'll come up with something decent seeing as I will be more invested in making such a project.  Forget I said anything.

Bloody hell, just about every ethnicity is in Mass Effect. Why does there need to be more ethnic backgrounds? How can this possibly enhance Mass Effect in any way?

"Wow, is that guy middle-eastern? AWESOME GAME!!!"

Number one: you do relies that Emily Wong could be from many Asian back grounds. In the era Mass Effect is set in, there is a lot of interracial people, even now one of my mates is called Wong was born in Vietnam with a Chinese mother and Korean father. So in other words, where you come from means less and there is less differentiating you from others.

Number two: God, who cares if i don't have a Korean guy in my squad, we can have everyone in the world in our team/squad. That and if you look around there are a lot of different races even on the citadel. So just cause you cant talk to them doesn't mean there are not a lot of different back grounds in the Mass Effect universe

I thought the human ethnic mix was quite good. Well, obviously not good enough for some ethnic grievance obsessive, but pretty good over all.
