Sheploo is Canadian, might wanna put that in there.

I personally want to see an extremely African individual. Not like Kanye West African, I mean like Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje African. Black as midnight, and with an extremely thick west/east African accent.

If it was a chick I would be turned on instantly.

^ That'd be cool but I don't think BW could get the skin just right they probably would just make pure black with no details which would be a shame that tone is sooo cool. They should do a proper albino too and allow for shep to be one but without looking all corpse like the current uber white model does.

EDIT: but overall I think BW doing fine with what nationalities they do have. I don't really care what nationality or race they are I see them when I see them and I meet them when I meet them. I'm not loosing sleep over the fact that a Taxan, Brazilian, Ukrainian, or a whoever else I haven't seen or heard from yet isn't  in the game. If BW needs to bring anymore in they'll do it.

You can make your Shepard to be of any blood (only grown up in English in North America for the lack of accent).

My Shepard grew up on Mindoir.  What does that make him?  Posted Image

You complain that you want more diversity, yet you don't realize that you shouldn't lump groups of people together in a fashion that results in exclusivity (the Indians as Hindu remark completely denies the existence of other Indians). Do you understand now why someone would be surprised by what you wrote?

It was never my intent to lump all Indians under the Hindu label, it was an honest mistake which I already admitted to. But you seem intent on calling me out on it every chance you get, which leads me to believe that you've got some grudge against me. Why? Did I happen to offend all of your Indian friends with that remark? Am I now some pariah to be hunted and burned at the stake?

As for my intents for this thread, let me make it clear to you. I was not complaining about the lack of ethnic diversity in the Mass Effect games. In fact, I'm quite impressed with the amount of ethnicity and nationalities of Earth that Bioware included. I only said I'd like to see more in Mass Effect 3 since the game is heading to Earth at some point. That's what I said.

So do us all a favor and drop this.

Humans are the only species in Mass Effect that can even be considered to have diversity let alone thinking it should be the focus for more.

How about Volus with more than one voice? or a female

Not a single female Turian...or Krogan...cant remember if that one on Tuchanka was actually a female.

Elcor, no females...and every single one looks exactly the same...and I know their voice is dull..but couldnt they at least vary how each sounds?

It's people like you who make me wish I was racist. As a melding pot of diversity myself (I'm Irish, German, and Italian on my Father's side and Japanese and Korean on my Mother's side) I honestly have no problem with someone assuming that a person with a last name, that originated in South China, is Chinese.

Also at OP, making a thread about ethnic diversity is just asking for trouble.
[/quote]

I have no idea what you're talking about. If you wish to be racist, be my guest, fight your demons, I say. If a person has a Chinese name, DUH, it's reasonable to assume that they're Chinese. I have no idea why you assumed otherwise. The point, is that the OP, of all people (considering that he's the one who came up with this thread), was acting like Hank Hill in season one of King of the Hill. In the episode I'm referring to, Hank gets a neighbor from Laos. He's confused by this, and keeps wondering if Kahn is Chinese or Japanese, because that's all "Asian" means to him. It was surprising to me to see the OP thinking like Hank Hill given the first post. If you want to assume I'm racist for being the anti-Hank Hill in this instance, know that I shall laugh at you:devil:, since I think it's funny you that you seem to make assumptions about what I am or what my background might be. These ain't the droids you're looking for.

I haven't crucified you. You assumed I was hostile, in spite of my outright telling you that I wasn't. Truly, I was just shocked. If you want to believe yourself the martyr, I'll let you have that one. Your OP just seemed odd, and your reasoning seemed odd. I truly want to know what more do want? How many OTHER nations and ethnic groups must appear in this game before you're satisfied?

ME is already quite ethnically diverse (including shep's ethnicity) it doesn't need anymore really. In the ME universe everyones just looked upon as one, the human race and that should suffice to most. Hell I'd rather have more age diverse people...err aliens (ex children).

*Sorry for the bad grammer eslB)*

Elana, you need to calm down.

Even though you claim not to be hostile, simply putting a smiley face on the end of a really condescending post about how "shocked" you are that someone could be so ignorant certainly sounds that way.

Now you're calling people racists.

There was a mistake, people pointed out the mistake, the mistake was apologized for and everybody here except for you has moved on.

I'm Canadian and I've never heard that. It's usually First Nations People or Aboriginals.

Well in ontario we were always said to call them aboriginals.

But if i just said aboriginal I doubt the americans would know what im talking about.

You say you're not hostile, and yet you continue with this condescending tone that borders on insulting. I make one small mistake regarding the Hindu term, and you suddenly assume I'm some ignorant white boy who can't tell the difference between Indian, Chinese and Japanese people and thus would label them all as Asians. Despite the fact that I'm Filipino as I pointed out, which you pointedly chose too ignore in favor of making me look more like a fool.

Now you're making a mountain out of a molehill. Was I pestering Bioware for more ethnic diversity? Where in my opening post did you get that impression? All I said was and I quote: "Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a stickler for political correctness, but it'd be nice to see more ethnically diverse humans in ME3, since we are going to Earth."

Where in that above quote did I indicate I was looking for satisfaction? No. That was you putting words in my mouth. Now chill out and drop this.

I was thinking of him too. He's from ME1 when you go to the Peak 15 facility on Noveria. He's Jewish, or at least I think he is since Cohen is a very common last name for Jews.

Edit: He definitely has an English accent though.

I'm not angry. Chill out and drop the martyr complex. I have a droll sense of humor, and this is me using it. If you think I'm angry and out to get you, then please chill out even more. Consider that you were the one who adopted the hostile tone, if you recall, in your very first response to me.  I never called anyone racist. I never implied you were racist; I said you sounded ignorant. Which you objectively were, and in a way which seemed incredibly ironic since it's not what I would have expected from you, given your first post.  Again, if you think I'm crucifying you, that's on you, and you seem determined to believe that, so that's why I'm letting you have that one.

Again, you said you wanted more ethnic diversity in ME. Most everyone has pointed out that there's a great deal of ethnic diversity, and there's even more in the ME universe than you see in many other games. So the reasonable question is, what more did you want to see? Were there specific groups that you think aren't represented at all or enough? Maybe you wanted them characterized a particular way, e.g., less stereotypically, as opposed to the Terra Firma guy who was very stereotypical? If you meant to write that the present amount of diversity is just fine, and you merely wanted it to continue (why wouldn't it?) then yeah, obviously I'm mistaken about thinking you need more to be satisfied. As it stands, I read you as saying that the present amount of diversity is not enough, and so naturally, the question is: what did you want to see?

Although yes he would not be from North America, I would guess that the bulk of the colony from mindoir was from North America and therefore they kept the accent.

Ethnic diversity is fine. We need more age, and alien diversity instead. In fact, I think the ME series has some of the most diversity I have seen in any game really.

Droll sense of humor? If that's the case then you completely suck at it. Sounds more like an weak ass excuse for your unnecessary condescension and the unwarranted insults I've called you out on. You're the ignorant one if you think your posts were funny or that no one would react negatively to them.

We have a lot of age diversity in Mass Effect. Mordin, Wrex, Anderson, Zaeed, Samara, Chakwas on the old end. Liara, Grunt, and Tali on the young end.
