I am a little amused at the idea of Aveline being "different" being applauded but if she's going to be a buff warrior she should be taller than everybody else.

The more things change.

Holy ****... I hadn't seen that. That's f*cking ugly.

What is it that you find ugly exactly?

Well, that's personal, but I detest this gypsy look.
As for the chin thing, I too find it to be weird looking. She just doesn't look normal. Totally unattractive to me. Eww.

Yeah, that's more like a Steven Seagal chin. And I'm not talking about Steven Seagal from the early 1990s. More the overweight Seagal of his DTV era.

LOL damn you now whenever I talk to Isabella I'm going to be thinking about the movie "Above the Law" and the fact that she's a pirate and she's "above the law" doesnt help this.

She probably also goes around bars beating the crap out of the drunk. That won't help either.

"Anybody seen Hawkie??? I"ll come back as many times as I have to until somebody remembers seeing Hawkie... huh?"

Actually I have no problem with Avelines concept art she looks quite cute to me but I've always had a thing for freckled girls so I'm biased on this.

I wish her in-game model had freckles.

I don't think we've seen a good enough close up screen shot to be sure.

I hope she has freckles.

One minute people are screaming for creative freedom...the next someone is being insulted cause he doesn't like the look of a char. Personally I think Aveline looks like hell...not saying she cant as i'm not a pc player so I dont get the luxury of modded hair or this that and the other.

How many people remodelled Leliana, and Morrigan on the pc no one is screaming at them. And personally the female body model in DAO was terrible..IMO. Its not too terribly hard to make the male body look odd...but the female form is much more difficult...not saying I think Aveline needs to be a maxim cover babe. Or people fussing in the last thread similar for calling Isabella a tramp...when you first meet her she lays tongue on your hawke...when you meet her in DAO she's doin' a foursome. Does it really matter if the term tramp is applied instead of "adventurous"?

Personally the female bodies look much better for this game, but you can't argue someone's opinion cause it might be slightly sexiest. He's not talking about his wife, but a video game character, and its concept design. Its like saying "I love the way Humberto Ramos draws Spider-Man, but hate the way Skottie Young draws Spider-Man."

Absolutely. People tend to get way too ****ing serious in this thread, and all over the board I would even say.

Personally I really like Isabella's new look compared to her one in DAO...i'm really glad they've kinda made their npc's stand out more in this one as opposed to running into my clone twin...aka one of first created chars looked just like Kolgrim...which I modelled him after Gerard Butler from 300 just so I could be silly during the game making 300 jokes. That was my biggest beef with DAO was anyone you ran into you could easily make as your char...**** I created my own Cailin look alike once.

Anyways I do feel Aveline looks bad...but thats my opinion, and its not cause she is a strong warrior...just don't dig the outfit really...perhaps when I can change her outfit I might feel differently about her.

I love tall women.

I'd give anything to be tall.... Well, not anything, but I'd sure like it. Pants wouldn't need hemming, and I could reach things on high shelves without a chair.... It would be awesome. *Sigh* I always play tall in video games. It's a solace. :)

For some reason, I was reminded of the sexy and young version mods of Wynne. She was not a love interest, but still, people just had to change her. Now I think of a screenshot which had her wearing one of those skimpy barely-covering armours, the mods for which float around.

I hate when people pretend that sexual attraction should be an 'afterthought' and wonder how people could get dissatisfied with a lack-there-of. A lot more honesty could go a long way in this topic... The fact is we're all biased and we all have tastes. Because someone thinks Isabela is beautiful and someone else thinks she's heinous is not a matter of right or wrong. It's a different opinion and it should be regarded as such. No one puts thought into whether or not they are attracted to someone or not, either they 'are' or they 'are not.' It's not 'politically correct' to admit the things someone finds attractive because it might offend someone else... too bad.

The drive to reproduce is the single greatest drive of the human species as a whole. Let's all just get real and realize you don't get to choose when to have this physiological marker motivate you or not. The human brain does not compartmentalize things into sectors of sexual and asexual, it affects everything we do, think, feel, etc.

I'm tired of being 'wrong,' or having a 'complex' for not finding the masculine features of Aveline appealing or the giant chin/jaw of Isabela attractive. I don't have a choice, and neither does anyone else. All we can do is respect our differences and STOP trying to get self-righteous every time someone says 'their not my type.'

How is that amusing?

1. People like that Aveline looks 'different.'
2. Most women are shorter than men.
3. Making her taller would also make her look different.

I think you're the first person who's mentioned her class.

Wonder Woman is 5'11''
Aveline should be 5'11''
I want to be 5'11''

I feel bad for anyone under 5'6''.

From what I understand, the character models are not complete. I need to see the finished product to judge.

With all do respect, my friend... Here Cassandra looks like a warden from an SS prison camp of a lesbian S&M movie *lol*. sooo much prefered the first model of her. Posted Image

Back to the topic, I think Aveline is fine; a warrior tank SHOULD look more muscular and have a rugged look.

On the other hand, I concur with the folks that dont like Isabela so much as she is. A pirate rogue should be much slimmer (not to the extent of Morrigan, perhaps, but maybe on the lines of Leliana). As Im consistent and not sexist, her boobs and ass ALSO should be smaller. Some leather pans would be welcomed, instead of that hooker skirt they gave her... Posted Image

But is this topic completely speculative or not? I dont see Bioware producing the toolset together with the launching of the game, if at all... Posted Image

As far as appearence mods go, you should be close to a genious to imporove Bioware models and not fixing one thing while messing three more... I think many of them were pretty lame (Morrigans in mind) but I love Yukidamas version of Leliana, thats been my canon face for Leli in all my playthroughs...   Posted Image

PS: BTW, Dragon Age Redesigned Mod is just great. Cant recommend that enough. Posted Image

Haven't seen it, if you have a link to a pic i'd be fine with seeing one.

As far as the sexier Wynne models...I really liked her model she was just obviously older.  I think the same model younger, with full color hair would have been it.  Like I said Wynne is easily one of my favorite characters in the game without all the melodrama.  She just had a strong personality of wisdom, and elegance that I found greatly appealing.  So I relied on her council the most in the game...although I enjoyed Shale stomping on chickens...it amused me.  I even enjoyed Sten...he wasnt complicated...tell him no or kick his ass

I like Aveline's concept art a lot, but from the little we've seen of the model, it doesn't seem to do the concept justice. I presume it's still being worked on, but even so, I'd love it if we could get the face resign options like we did for DA:O, in spite of threre being no toolset to start with.

The facial design mods aren't about making characters look more attractive, per se (although I'm sure some people do go for that), but instead fixing artistic oversights, and/or making their appearances fit their characters and concepts better. Above all, they're about offering choice. For example, with the Dragon Age Redesigned mod, I installed the Wynne Redesign that made her look slightly older than in vanilla, but it still looked like her. That was for lore reasons.

Contrastingly, I also particularly appreciated the redesign that completely overhauled Leliana's face and hair, which made her look like the attractive girly seductress that she was meant to be. It looked like the concept art. That was for lore and aesthetic reasons.

Finally, I also changed Morrigan and Zevrans faces purely for aestethic reasons, because that mod's replacements were just so much better than vanilla.

*Sigh* What a great mod.

I agree I liked Cassandra's first design better then the new one...i'm not digging the amount of silver/white hair that is popping up in major chars for this game. Two so far...one more and the world implodes...I dunno they just seemed to use the white hair more appropriately to age in the first one now this one it seems its for style now.

I can already see the day-one mods : Isabella, Aveline and Cassandra redesigned. :P

I find Isabella alright and Aveline as well, except for the lack of freckles, but I prefered conceptart Cassandra with long, slick black hair, I'll definitely mod that if it's doable and doesn't change before release (unless the Cassandra scenes are movies, in which case we're screwed no matter what).
