Best Axe/Sword for TH?

But I'm curious as to what the best axe and sword in-game are. I started the orgin with an axe, but for some odd reason I can't find them at any vendor, so my dwarf is using the BD armor and a nice great sword...but I'd really like a huge axe.....
Also.... for specs, I accidently took templar, but can a THer be a beserker as well?

As for Greatswords, I like to use Starfang for DAO, but I am uncertain if it considered the best.
Berserker can be used with 2H. but it is not as optimal as it would be for S&S or DW. I believe this is due to the increased use of activated talents instead of auto-attacks, but am uncertain.

Ah got it. I'll keep an eye out for it. you're right about the axes....I wanted to use one, but I found this dragonbone greatsword that I'm growing attached to.....

Yes, but AFAIK, 2H offensive runes only fire on auto-attacks; recommend defensive runes instead.

I also posted in your original TH thread...I'm running my first TH currenlty as well. I will add here a couple of things:
1. I went with Champion first for CC/boosts as my tank (Al) is lacking the armor/STR at this point and I'm drawing alot of aggro. Berserker will likely work for you, but you may consider the defense of the Templar/champion for a second specialization.
2. The Cleaver is fab! If you can swing the dlc, get it.
3. Playstyle comes in for second weapon choice. The Edge is great, but you may not make your way to the urn until much, much later. Also, if you are like me, and switch to other mates during combat, then the auto-attack damage runes won't bother you. I've played many mages and enjoy setting up the battle field with CC and DOT before I go DPS with my pc. Try both and see what fits your playstyle best for runes.

What's a good party for defending Redcliffe? I think I have Morrigan, Alistair and Leliana

Correct. But you may have a Party Add icon which will allow you to alter the team w/o leaving the area. Mine is on top of the taskbar atop my screen.

The only real problem with it is that it's only available after 3 main quests.

Don't worry about the maul being slow. It's really no big deal. It does absolutely loads of damage, and besides you should be using your special attacks mainly and Haste as well if you have a mage with you.

And that the graphics have one trying to impale a blunt object into your foes during combat, and spend the time between battles smacking upon your spine while you jog....

Im still surprised no one has made a model/graphic swap yet. Publicly availible at least,
"Great Chasind Blunt Sword" and use Asala's beat up blade model/skin.

I don't understand why the best mauls are so darned ugly. The dwarf noble gets a sweet-looking one in the Origin, but then later on they give you these wooden mallets? What the heck!?
My fave thus far is the one carried by the Guardian of the Ashes; in one hand no less. When I opposed him, I expected to become mashed rather quickly.

Well if you don't have the Witch Hunt DLC, but you're still determined to use Battleaxes, then I'd go with Metashear. Critical chance bonuses are good to have on a 2-hander., and Metashear's got the highest of any 2-handed weapon in Origins
