I went into the Pearl inside Denerim and there is a girl (I forget the name starts with an I) you speak to so you can learn Duelist. I was told to speak to her and she'll only teach you if she knows you better and you must beat her in a game a cards. Well my first time through I couldn't beat her, she cheats and I couldn't figure out how to win so I gave up.
I go back to a previous save and this time when I come across the woman inside the pearl I have zev in my party, turns out they know eachother. this time when she asks me to play cards I choose a different option, something about "isn't there a diff way I can get to know you better?" She suggests her and I go back to her place THEN she asks Zev if he wants to join us!
So beat her at cards or threesome to unlock duelist..

Bring Leliana and Zevran along. If the approvals are right, they both join in, I've heard.

You can also have a foursome with her, Zev, and Leliana, or you can just sleep with her yourself.

yes, if you have zevran along, zevran will help you catch her cheating.

Naturally, I didn't have Leliana or Zevran with me, why oh why are you rogues so useless most of the time?!

You can beat her with cunning as well - you notice she's cheating because she plays a card she had just discarded.
