I don't think Aveline is a LI.

Hawke - Hey, remember when we met?

Aveline - Yeah! It was in the Blightlands and my husband died!

*awkward silence*

I don't think she is either. I expect a conventionally attractive straight female companion to appear any day now. I can only imagine the whining if Dragon Age 2 had only a single female love interest.

that isn't even close to being a fair comparison.

Why not?

Okay then how about if Zevran but I'd prefer someone like Alistair and found Zevran to be unattractive.

Do I have a complex then?

Madonna/W**re complex, taken directly from Wikipedia.
"The term is also used popularly, often with subtly different meanings."
the psychological jist however:
"He will reserve sexuality for "bad" or "dirty" women, and will not
develop "normal" feelings of love in these sexual relationships. This
introduces a dilemma where a man may feel unable to love any woman who
can satisfy him sexually and is unable to be sexually satisfied by any
woman whom he can love."

I attribute it far more to a cultural leaning to sl*t-shame any woman who enjoys sex, has sex, admits to having sex, etc etc.  This guy's desire to not be flamed is crap, he's making blatantly sexist remarks, and highlighting exactly why there is still a double standard in the world regarding women and their sexuality.

Because someone who doesn't happen live up to some ideal that never existed and never will totally compares to a molester.

Eh. I didn't like Zevran for the same sl*t reasons.

Do I have a complex?

*muses*

Edit: Lloyd was a molestor? Who'd he molest?

It would be kind of weird to find the most attractive female in your party is your sister.

Ok... Everyone voicing their personal opinions and then attacking *my* personal preferences seems a bit hypocritical, eh? I was simply giving the reasons that *I* don't like the two female romance options presented thus far to sate the inevitable 'Why don't you like them? I love them..."

And, not that I really want to get into it... but no one has the right to tell me that the traits I find virtuous in the opposite sex are incorrect. Period. It takes a bit to insult me, but that actually does it. I could care less that everyone in our society deems promiscuity as acceptable, because I do not. I will not go out of my way to insult or judge others, but I will not accept the blanket of societal normalcy to be draped over my personal convictions because they don't ally themselves with the collective.

My question was simple, and no one even attempted to address it...

Bella.  It's one of the primary reasons she want to get out of there in addition to the low wages.

and the...let's say....'easy' pirate chick with a jacked up facial bone structure....not so much. I mean..I could deal with her awful face if she wasn't portrayed as such a...'tramp.'

You see an ugly tramp, I see an exotic, sultry, fun-loving gal.

I don't think romancable characters should attempt to appeal to everyone. By doing so they tend to end up a little typical and bland. Bring on the diversity and if there is no one that appeals to you so be it. It just makes the times someone does a little more special.

I've long wanted Bioware to make a new game with no romances. I don't hate romances, I just think they eat up resources from other parts of Bioware games I enjoy way more. I also want to see it happen just because I want to see Bioware deviate from their traditional mechanics and formulas.

No. No one knows if there are others.
And by the way, we don't even know if Aveline is romanceable.

Yep that's too far. I hate ****s myself, bet hey I don't ask for things that I can't do myself. A girl loves sex? Awesome, just why not have a lot of sex in a good and loving relationship, than with plenty people? I wouldn't cheat myself.

If you're starved for attention, you could just start a thread about how Fenris is a sissy looking pretty-boy and Varric a short, hairy dude and you have no interest in boinking either. Or just go troll their fan threads.

Did you know he has a Master's in English? And is part of Mensa? And his college aptitude test puts him in the top 1% of the country?

If not, I assume he'll bring it up soon enough.
