-Favorite = Legion - Hes a geth...after spending the whole first game fighting them I found it amazing to speak to one.

Least - Grunt - I actually like him, hes funny and cool, but there is no point in him, it feels like he was put in the game just so you have a Krogan in your squad.

Have to agree with Grunt having little point.  As much as he is helpful in combat, his contribution to the story is minimal, his willingness to follow you after cracking open the tank is head-scratching at best.  They should've kept Wrex  in the loop if they wanted a krogan in your team.  But the same can be said about Wrex in ME1: after Fist, there isn't really anything tying Wrex to the fight against Saren.  He hangs around and doesn't become a factor until Virmire.  As much as I love these games, the plot holes are quite evident at times.

I think actaully taking okeer may have been better in Mass Effect 2, it would have been easier to make up a decent cause he would join your team for.

Oh wow. I don't know if I can pick one.

Legion, Mordin, Garrus, Grunt, zaeed...... Damn I like them all, lol.

I guess the character I used the least was jacob. So I guess he's my least favorite. But I like him to.

I'm in complete agreement with you.  Not to mention, imagine the tension between Mordin and Okeer on the Normandy?  Perhaps another confrontation to settle like Tali/Legion and Miranda/Jack?  That would've been cool.

There was planned to be a confrontation between Grunt and Mordin like that, but it got cut. Just search unused dialogue Mordin vs Grunt on youtube and you'll hear it.

I'm actually surprised there aren't one for Thane and Jacob as well.

Well, Wrex does tell Shepard that he crossed paths with Saren once before and correctly sensed that he was dangerous. Plus, I think he wants to be at the center of the action and to be part of something more important than just being a merc - if you handle the Fist/Shadow Broker/Tali portion without talking to him, he shows up and asks to join when Shepard is preparing to leave the Citadel and gives something along those lines as a reason.

Grunt is kind of a unique character because his lack of motivation *is* his motivation - he was created with this strong instinct to fight but without any clear reason for doing so, and seems inclined to try to find a reason rather than questioning the instinct.

While they're initially antagonistic, I don't think there's enough of a personal stake there. The Miranda/Jack and Legion/Tali confontations were based on Cerberus and the geth/quarian conflict, and Mordin/Grunt would have centered around the genophage. Jacob is reluctant to trust Thane, but they aren't on opposite sides of a specific and immediate conflict.

The most interesting characters are Legion, Miranda, and Mordin. I think they are all very well written as complex and dynamic (assuming you complete their loyalty missions) characters. Garrus is awesome, so I'd loop him in with those three to round off my favorites. Grunt, while incredibly cool, was a pointless static character. Jack was extremely off-putting for me personally, but I do admit that she was dynamic if you romance her. I just couldn't stand her at first, and thus had absolutely no desire to romance her...

Favorites:
- Legion
- Miranda
- Garrus
- Mordin

Least Favorites:
- Jack
- Grunt

ME2 has a bunch of good ones, ME3 feels a bit anorexic in this aspect. Zaeed is my favorite, full renegade one-man army. Least fav is between Token Black Guy With Disarmingly Shiny Teeth, and Tali.

i love all of the characters of me2.
but if i had to pick favorites, out of the ones i used the most, it would be Tali, Miranda, and Jack (Samara and Kasumi very close)
least favorite would be Grunt just because he is so hell bent on killing everything. I liked him more in the third game though.
