There's a vast difference between criticism and outright name-calling and general unpleasantness. I'm not sure about the Fenris thread, as I don't go there very often, but we don't have any problem with criticism in the Varric thread if the post isn't made as an obvious ploy to get a rise out of us. Like, I dunno, wandering into the thread, calling Varric ugly, comparing him to Danny Devito or Chris Farley, claiming that we're not interested in the character, just his chest hair, that sort of thing. We're more than willing to discuss the possible flaws in the character. In fact, it's happened more than once. We're sort of lacking on the info train.

Also, Maria - A+. Stay awesome.

I agree with Teen Zombie...there have been some threads where the first initial response to a fair opinion is



"OMG HOW DARE YOU INSULT A WOMAN FOR BEING TALL WEILDING A BATTLEAXE AND NOT LOOKING HOT!!!"



Not disagreeing that some complaining is unwarranted, but some fair complaints are being outright attacked for being "eh i'm not too keen on this char."



It goes to who do you use in your party more...I used Wynne a ton, not a LI, not magnificent. However I found her very interesting, and very fun to converse with. I know the idea of her as a LI was brought up out of the three females you had she was the most down to earth, kinda refined, elegance about her. Personally wish she had been younger so I could have romanced her as she did have the kind of traits I enjoyed. I would have much rathered a younger Wynne then either Morrigan or Leliana any day of the week.



But I do agree some bashing is just utterly ridiculous, but not all bashing is bad sometimes its just an opinion.
