The Rock is cool, Derek Jeter is alright, and Tony Romo leaves much to be desired. But I tire of this discussion. Debating about looks is like debating if Chuck Norris could beat up an Imperial Star Destroyer; Whoever wins we all lose.

Seriously people, stop making excuses. The game doesn't look amazing. OK. Don't try to pretend that by March the game will be looking like Crysis 2 or something. It's getting ridiculous.

Bingo, give this poster the money.  The game is being released on March 8th.  It's done and in the packaging area now.  Just hope that they come out with a toolset even if it is sold as DLC because you're going to need it.

Games don't go gold until about a week prior to their release. If they were in the packaging area right now, we'd have them by the 7th-11th.

Think this gets bit blurred when there's console version involved -- since the game also has to go through licensing/certification process handled by console manufacturer. This means there's additional period between the point development gets frozen and the game is declared "good to go", effectively shortening time which can be spent on actually making the game prior to launch.

edit: in any case, there's some comments from devs in the dx11 thread iirc, to the effect of these features not being fully implemented yet and how the development is going to continue through January or smth. So it doesn't seem to be locked down yet at this point.

If DA:O was any indication, Bioware locks down content about a month from release. So if we have a March. 8 deadline, lockdown would be Feb 8.
