I think reading so many previews, trailers, etc. ruined ME2's story for me. Don't get me wrong, I think ME2 is an amazing game, but I already knew EVERYTHING relating to the main story.
ME1 - Before I played the game for the first time I knew that the game would be a SCI-FI, action/rpg starting commander Shepard. I didn't know much about the plot or anything else. I knew there would be some form of biotic powers and romance options.
Result: I was surprised by many things and I was very interested about what would happen next (story wise).
ME2 - Before I played the game I already knew the following: 1) Shepard dies at the beginning, 2) Shepard is revived by Cerberus, 3) Shepard agrees to work for IM and goes on a mission to recruit teammates, 4) I knew more than half the teammates (Jack, Grunt, Miranda, etc.), 5) Shepard would try to go past the Omega-4 relay to hit the Collectors base, 6) There would be multiple endings and people could die on the final mission (including Shepard).
Result: I basically knew everything about the story. There were only minor surprises throughout the game
For ME3, I think I will avoid as many spoilers as possible. Bioware really needs to do a better job keeping the story under wraps. We should know about the setting, not the whole story.
It is hard to resist watching trailers and other videos/spoilers, but I think it will be worth it.
I don't want to know anything about the ME3 plot

Sooo... don't watch, read and look at the trailers, previews and spoilers. What else is there to say past what you already did?

Agreed tbh, even for someone that doesnt care about spoilers, ME2 kinda overdid it.
I prefer if they just showed random action scenes that are unrelated to the story.
Look at the bright side though, Bioware really is confident in their game that they want to show off as much as possible

From this perspective - I have to agree. Mass Effect 2 reached the dangerous level of hype where players were close to dissapointed by the game itself since there was so much buzz about it.

That is why I support this sig.
BTW, I'm just waiting for the first wave of spoilers to start and then I will stop using any kind of site that may give to me spoilers.
And I want my ME3 wallpaper, Bioware!
