the tank is WAY too weak. enemies are WAY too good at hitting you. the gun seems to fire wherever it likes as opposed to where your aiming and WORST OF ALL there are no checkpoints or saving. who the hell thought this was a good idea? was this not discussed AT ALL IN PLAYTESTING!? "hey guys this isnt fun at all maybe you should i dunno put in checkpoints?" ive spent the last TWO HOURS trying to collect 5 artifacts and i am just about read to snap the discs in half.
seriously...what the HELL was bioware thinking with project firewalker!??!?

Well, the DLC was completely free, so we got what we paid for
My personal guess is that it was intended to test out some basics of the firewalker before establishing more complex, detailed missions with the vehicle. If you don't like the DLC, I'd say don't play it altogether :-/

It happens.
If the enemies are hitting too hard(especially at the end from geth prime...), try turning down the difficulty. Best of luck.

It seems the hammerhead was not made for frontal combat (a tank). Play with the enemies line of sight to allow the vehicle to autorepair and abuse the long range of the cannons.

I believe that Project: Firewalker had two goals.
1. To satisfy EA's project $10. With Zaeed, Firewalker, and Cerberus armor/shotgun all free for first hand buyers I belive they did this.
2. To quiet all the "MAKO WAS THE GREATEST THING EVER!" people who enjoy repeatedly stabing themselves in the eye with sharp objects.
Seriously though, EA sprung project $10 on Bioware when they were about 90% done and said "oh yeah you have to add more content as free DLC after release, get to work on that" So we got Firewalker.
As an aside: As a child I thought Firewalker was a hilarious movie. So I just want you to know, I blame you for this.

Firewalker was a public beta in disguise. Too bad Bioware didn't draw any lessons out of it, as is evident in Overlord. Or we have to go with Zacarius2's arguments.

i've never had a problem with it in all honesty and i only play HC >> just keep at range and jump a bunch encircling doesn't work like it did with the Mako. If you need to get in close constantly move around and jump frequently only solution to your problem. Truthfully i've only been killed in the Firewalker Missions twice, both times were because i got too close to a colossus surrounded with geth. Just Remember the Missles are seeker missles and fire rapidly unlike the mako cannon a direct line of sight is not needed.

I actually felt the same way at first...
But I learned to love the little thing. There are a couple of tricks to making it effective for the Missions it has to do & turning down the difficulty, while always an option, isn't needed to get it to work.
A couple of the Mission are simply about timing and it may just take a couple of tries to get it...but it also has a bit of range on the guns.
I really hated the MAKO vs Thresher parts of ME until I learned the tricks...Firewalker is pretty similar.
Learn to love the little guy

Yeah, Firewalker was a piece of crap to be honest.
I prefer to think of it as a little arcade game within the game and this way I can easily bare it. But it's nowhere near ME quality.
But the problem doesn't lie with the saving system.
It lies with the complete lack of a story.

I like the Firewalker actually, but it should've been a lot stronger. A few hits and BOOOM. Listen, BioWare, that's not fun!

Yea, if it had better armor then it could have been a ton of fun. But alas, while its still fun to bounce around in that thing, it could have been a lot better.

Ugh, ANOTHER Hammerhead thread.
Yes, we get it, it wasn't a good tank. Everyone is aware of this.
I still prefer it over the Mako, though.

I never really had any problems with it. I usually stayed back and pummeled the geth with superior range, or close up, I circle strafed+went up and down to avoid fire. It was some serious keyboard mashing. XD

Yes the Mako was bad, and yes the Hammerhead was bad, but the flying car chase in Lair of the Shadow Broker was epic, and it gave me hope for future vehicle segments from Bioware actually being good.
We'll have to wait and see what they do in ME3 to know if they learned anything.

the tank itself wasnt bad. the controls were absolutely perfect. its complete lack of armor however is the gorram issue. if they beefed up its armor and maybe gave it a machine gun turret it'd be perfect. i cannot understand the design logic of making it so gorram weak.

Just try and exploit how dumb the Geth are...they wont pursue you...just going in and out of sight works

Yeah that really was the main problem with it. Other than that it's a blast. It can go sooooo fast it's awesome. Combat-wise, the mako was better, but the hammerhead is a joy to drive.

That's quite a response to the hammerhead.
I like the Mako better than the Hammerhead.
But there's a catch.
The Mako was decent on main mission planets like Ilos, Noveria, etc. The combat was mildly fun. Should have eased up on the turrets and geth armatures though.
The Mako was terrible on those sidequest planets where everything was barren and the only thing to do was to play simon says and find yet another generic science or mercenary base again. Driving up steep mountains with the Mako is not fun.
The hammerhead itself feels inferior to the Mako, but I like much better the levels designed for it. The combat is pretty bad, though. Excepting the Overlord Turret shield thing, that was acceptable.
