Okay so that's a bit of a controversial statement I'm sure, but hear me out. I just went and re-played 'Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter' and rather enjoy the game...especially as an invincible SASR operator. Getting to the point though, there are so many elements in that game that I feel would translate well to ME3 and make the game better, without damaging - indeed, enhancing - the RPG elements.

Firstly, weapons. In GRAW you get a choice of a number of primary and secondary weapons. The big thing though is that you can then customise them. Let's say you choose the SCAR-L (Mk16 rifle). You can choose to replace the standard scope with a different (arguably better) one; you can add a grenade launcher or front grip for more stability in auto-fire underneath the barrel; you can add a silencer - this way, you fully customise YOUR weapon to the way you want it. You can also customise your squaddies weapons.

Secondly, stealth. I realise that ME isn't a stealth based game, but here I'm going to look at both GRAW and Rainbow Six: Vegas. In both games, particularly R6:V, you can go charging into a gunfight if you want. However, you can also sneak around, eliminating enemies without alerting the rest of them. In one level of R6:V you can sneak across a rooftop and kill about 10 enemies without alerting them to your presence. You can't do this all the time though, but it mixes up combat a bit. Plus, would this not be the perfect style of play for the Infiltrator?

These are just two FPS/Shooter elements I feel that ME4 woul dbenefit from. Not only because they would enhance the shooter aspects, but because they would enhance the RPG aspects at the same time.

Thoughts?

EDIT: another shooter addition I forgot, which would be nice for ME - picking up the gun of a dead enemy. In GRAW2 you can kill an enemy, and then pick up their weapon and use that. However this means that you drop the weapon you're currenly using. Perhaps this would be a better system than ME2 with its abundance of weapons lockers?

Id like to see the ability to use stealth now and then in ME3. Ive always enjoyed stealth and we could do with more weapon customisation. I like it.

Maybe if they gave us one weapon in each class that we can customise they could be what the N7 is to armours

I'd like to quote Heath Ledger's best performance up this very date:

Ha ha ha he he he Ho ha Ho ha He he he. Hi Ha Ho He Ho Ho Ha.

And I thought, my jokes are bad.

This game doesnt need shooter elements, but some stealth missions with suppressors would be fine ;)

Did any of you even bother to read the whole post? They're really just asking for more weapon customization and some stealth elements, which would indeed be great for Infiltrator. people are so quick to jump to the hate over this stuff :/

Hehe, some of you did not even read what OP did write. Because that's what most players here have asked, more  customization to armors and weapons to all characters.

As for stealth, that's Infiltrator classes speciality.

How about we get a bit more specific, like, why would those extra shooter elements be bad for ME?

I don't see why people say no to this... In case many of you haven't noticed, the game play stays the same all throughout game. Sure for all you people that just like the rpg elements or can stand the same old game play, again and again and again, this setup is perfect. Though for the rest of us, that are not to stuck up to admit better shooter elements would enhance the game, we would like to see more variety past a corridor shooter with run and gun option stuck in the on position.

If you have ever played uncharted 2, you will know how a 3rd person shooter should be done. Sure there are other games with better controls and better gun play, but what uncharted did get right was the ability, on some parts of a level to be stealthy. In many respects the way uncharted 2 has its levels set out, is very similar to mass effect. By that i mean you never really had a choice where to go and there wasn't really many ways to go about getting from a to b. Though every now and then you could go about the level in a stealthy manner-for those you that have played it- i remember the train crash in the snow half way through the game. You could really run and gun your way through that level but you had the option to silently take them out which on higher difficulties was much more desirable.

These ideas of adding attachments to your guns, would add a lot of depth rpg wise and shooter wise-if done right. Expanding on your idea Capitan; maybe being able to change attachments on the fly would work well(like in crysis). That would give serious thought to how you approached a situation and maybe even influence how you spend experience points.

Overall, it would be great to have your ideas in me3 captain +1

Maybe changing the thread title would help?

I think its setting the scene for people to just be negative without even reading your post.

yea, walked into this post with a hugely negative attitude due to the thread title. As for the op post i like the idea kind of of the weapon system, i do however really miss the massive amount of lewt <.<

As for stealth aspects, i dont agree with that at all. That covers 1 class type of shepard, the rest are not so sneaky.

Those specific requests I don't mind, but my concern is that Bioware needs to put a little more RPG in the Action-RPG, as ME2 got a decent enough combat overhaul IMO.

Well to an extent, the point of the topic title is not only to express my ideas, but also a bit of shock value. Get people to jump in, ready to defend RPG elements, only to find that essentially I'm advocating aspects of the game that woul denhance both. If people can't be bothered reading the OP and just respond to the title, it says more about them than the idea.

Well keep in mind that all classes would be able to use stealth, it's just that the Infiltrator would be the best at it. It's much the same in that all classes can rush headlong into a firefight, you'll just be the most successful as a Vanguard.

I have thought about this long time ago. we have 6 different class. each class should have one unique weapon, and one armor which can be customized. I don't know what exactly weapon, armor could be fit into each class for its power. but if Bioware would listen to our request, it will be added to ME 3. we all hope it.

I like both ur ideas! Five stars!

@Quietness
Even soldiers could come in handy stealthing - they do stealth in actual war situation so why Shepard cannot?

Cheers,

This thread is a good example of people's preconceptions. People read only head line and judge someting without reading at all what it means.

OP made good point that improving shooter can also mean improving RPG. It's like some people mind rejected word "shooter" and anything related it, without even caring what it's all about.

This is really funny. :P

I think people forget that no matter what class Shepard is, he would of received special forces training. If they are anything like the equvilant of the sas or seals ect. The training would of involved some form of stealth training. Just because your a solider class doesn't mean they would train in stealth operations.

Excellent job not reading the OP, and replying to the title, BSN.

OP, I like your stealth idea.

Love both ideas...although more would likely need to be generated for other classes to bring it on par with the infiltrator. Sadly, ME1 did try to go the way of the your first notion--like applying heatsinks to up the firing rate, but the entire gameplay mechanism for ME1 was so clunky it invalidated alot of well-meaning "upgrades" (stupid jerking around made heatsinks useless on SRs, when you finally get a clear shot, the gun has already cooled down without aid). Let's hope they do it right this time round.

I'd like both of those.

Also if they're going to makes this a TPS/RPG I'd rather them make it a tactical TPS/RPG. Warfighter had good combat and I'd like to see more squad based combat, at this point it's just let the AI do it's thing poorly while you clean up. No flanking, no covering fire, no stealth, nothing besides press a to not die really.

Everything that enhances the game and gives us more options is good.
