I think this may not be the game for you, BringerOfChaos. If you're going to get this pissy over one small aspect of a very enjoyable game, it's probably better that you go play something else.

Finally!

Do you mind if I ask you some stuff?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the upgrades you buy/research actually scale up the difficulty of the enemies?

So you're saying if I upgrade my armor/weapons the enemies will get stronger?!

If I don't upgrade them the difficulty will adjust to that?

Is it possible to go through insanity without upgrading?

They don't scale up the enemies based on anything but difficulty, from my experiences.

It is VERY possible to play through on insanity without upgrading, however.

I believe that I've heard that, and from my own experience the game didn't get easier with the upgrades (execpt the accurassy ones), but please don't hang me up :)

The upgrades just don't make THAT big of a difference. They are by no means a crutch. They won't make or break any encounters. If the game is too hard for you killing something in 10 shots, then being able to kill it in 9 probably won't make a difference.

I love you two plan and simple.

Elaborate please. Why is it very possible?

Tell me more.

Is the difference in upgrades really that low.

What about armor/character upgrades.

When I said no upgrades, I meant none. Well, obviously I'll get the ship upgrades.

Can it be done on impossible?

Felfenix have you done it? Tell me more.

the reason they dont carry over chaos, is that if u dont research certain upgrades, it affects end game. so if u want everyone to live on one playthrough and everyone to die on another, if hey give you all the upgrades back, that option is gone. i hope u reconsider buying ME2. (ps u cant go on most forums because u dont have the game registered on this site

You act like these characters have dynamic A.I.

They couldn't tell the difference if I had a giant nuke shooting penis duck taped to my back.

The only upgrades that effect the story are the ship upgrades. Pretty sure BringerOfChaos is mostly concerned with things like "Shotgun Damage +20%". Yes, it's possible to beat the game on insanity without upgrades. Knowing how to cover (or use your powers intelligently) and how to kill efficiently can go a long way. This isn't Final Fantasy where you and the enemy take turns smacking each other, and the person with the higher stats wins.

Nope.

If that was their grand excuse for fvcking up NG+ they can go eat a very large dick.

If I can get through insanity without upgrading, I'm getting the game. If I can't keep the upgrades I don't want them at all. If I can make it through insanity I can make it through all of the other difficulties.

If I can get some solid confirmation of this, I'm sold.

C'mon guys.

Well thats a uhm, uncommon way of saying that you apriciate the help, but what the hey...

I'm not sure about Armor, I think that they make a prehapes noticeble difference, but most of the time, I just use them for looks.

alright, bringerofchaos, i agree the NG+ upgrade system is screwed up. i hate mineral searching and the upgrades going away but if u have seen any interviews with casey hudson or jesse houston or whoever they say that for the ps3 v. they made mining alot simpler and more quick of a process, though they didnt spare many details. also, i do not believe that difficulty scales with upgrades but i do not know for certain. but please do not miss out on this excellent game because of one flaw. if this game is not in your top 10 of your favorite games ever, i believe that u are a reaper sir.
