Are there any figures for the other Homeworlds?

Illium is one of the youngest colonies for the Asari with an average surface temp of 63 degree Celsius or 145.4 Fahrenheit.

Earth is 23 C or 73.4 F

Yup, 13 million is way too small imo. I would believe 13 million is the population of the Presidium alone.

I'd guess like it was posted earlier, that the 13.2 million is the permanent population. With a total of 40 million on any given day there.

I assume that number is from ME1

So the moral of the story:

The population figure for the Citadel is fine, but global warming's a b*tch.

I don't wanna see the planet after an 10°C increase in average temperature.

For me, Retconning is ok if done for the right and only absolutely necessary reasons, because I would do the same in their shoes. Imagine if you are a writer and think, oh crap, wish I had done that to make all this work... oh wells.

Problem is, I hate when fans refuse that it is retconning and try to make it work no matter what, like those maintaining the Halo lore in Halopedia, etc. They find a way around retconning, even if it doesn't make sense, like the UNSC upgrading guns/vehicles/uniforms during a couple months period when they are horribly strapped for resources (and it is impossible to prototype anything in a short time) to make an excuse for a different type of gun in one Halo game than another due to gameplay/artistic reasons. Then they complain about Ensemble Studios "breaking" canon when Bungie does it themselves repeatedly.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, back on topic.

it's a good point though, that and Halopedia is the start of many fake Halo rumors for example Spartan 1 project, while a porject similar to the spartan project apparently existed it wasn't called the spartan 1 project, But they use a site called out by bungie as non-cannon as their resource @.@

But i thought of an easy way to reton this.

Apprx 10 million of the 40 million pop is vistors, 30 million residence 18 million civillian casualties from the battle of the citadel. makes sense they said damage to the station was exstensive and by ME 2 they still haven't repaired it all.

"Sea levels have risen two meters in the last 200 years, and violent weather is common due to environmental damage inflicted during the late 21st century. The past few decades, however, have seen significant improvement due to recent technological advances. "

Revelation said that the population was 40 million, that sounds more trainable than 13.2. It was likely just a mistake by their writers.

Yo, Coruscant imma let you finish but Trantor is the best world metropolis of all time, of all time!

On target though, 13.2 mil seems acceptable. Given the fact that the citadel manufactures its food and maintains itself completely independently I would be willing to accept the figure. Besides, imagine the rent?

As for planetary populations, I think you guys are all a little off. I mean, we've mostly been flying around in 'Frontier' space in the games. Populations are a little on the low side intentionally.

85 million for what's essentially "Space Dubai" or a New Orleans in 1803?

I can take that. I wouldn't be surprised if Illium has a LARGE transitory population who try to 'make it big,' but after a few months, or between censuses, leaves.

Most of those colony worlds will have relatively low populations, because people won't want to leave, and it's hard shipping people to places. Essentially, most worlds will have small, seed communities that through natural increase, populate their worlds.

With only modern medicine, I can see 5+ children families being common with all of them surviving to adulthood on a farming colony world.

I lived in Hong Kong, population 7 million. I remember climbing to the top of Mount Victoria, looking out across the city, looking at Hong Kong Island, which has 1 million people alone, and then looking across at the New Territories, where the majority of the remaining live. I remember thinking how this view looks about the same as one ward arm (reminiscent of the view from the "tin-foil miniskirt conversation"), except the citadel appeared to have much taller structures, much more closely packed, and not separated by natural obstructions such as mountains and harbors. 13.2 million is indeed too small. I would imagine that if HK could build as many tall buildings, as tightly packed, and without natural obstructions, I'd say it could easily double it's population, possibly triple, so 14 million in one ward arm alone, so 56 million, and perhaps as much as 90 million on one station is more realistic. Otherwise, it would be full of mostly empty buildings, which makes no sense.
