There is no continuity error with the grenade launcher. The codex entry says "M-100 proponents counter that the weapon has a fifty-year track record in reliably accepting kludge ammo." So the weapon was around during the First Contact War.
Continuity error: the M35 Mako shouldn't exist yet at the time. The M29 Grizzly should have been there instead. Ahern's mission on Pinnacle Station even had a M29 Grizzly.

Where are you getting the date that shows that? I can't find the date on when the Mako was first made and put into service.

1-Why do the guns look like they're firing laser beams? This isn't Star Wars. Not that there's anything wrong with Star Wars, but the laser beams just seem out of place here.
2-I really hope Jack Harper ends up being a pseudonym and we never learn TIM's real name. Exploring some of his backstory is fine, but certain things should remain illusive. His real name is one of them.
Also, I'm calling it now. That turian they've taken prisoner is Saren's brother.

There is no hard date published by Bioware. However, the articles indicate the M35 came a while after the M29 was deployed. Certainly the Alliance marines in UNC: Missing Marines still used a M29 Grizzly.

What do you have agains comics?
Nothing at all, I just find books to be much better at telling stories. In addition, all these Darkhorse comics make characters I know from the game look completly different.
I see... I can agree about the characterizations messed up (Liara is a clear example of that).Mr. MannlyMan wrote...
Anybody notice that Ben (Jack's friend) resembles Big Ben, from the ME3 teaser?
I
mean, the fact that he's also named "Ben" can't be coincidence, can it?
Maybe the marketing department is giving us our first glimpse of a new
character?
Coincidence. Unless you think that Sniper Ben didn't age in the 25-30 years between First Contact War and Reaper's Invasion.
That and 'Big Ben' was a fan-given name. We don't know the snipers actual name.

That doesn't mean the Mako was deployed recently. Could it be that the Alliance uses both vehicles.

It looks like the Carnevale cover is a limited-edition issue of the comic, or am I mistaken?
Really I haven't seen any clarification of this.
EDIT: It looks like there's two editions of the comics per release

I guess that the Carnevale cover is a limited-print version, since it's of better quality with the same price.

Also, in the comic TIM says to Ben that if he wanted to just kill turians he should join the Alliance. Wasn't Cerberus a part of the Alliance at that point in time? So they were actually working for the Alliance? Meaning that statement is a bit.... wierd?
Cerberus didn't exist at the time. According to the Wiki entry, the name Illusive Man wasn't coined until some time after the war.
On another note, wonder who it is on the alternate Vol. 3 cover?
Is that a shield belt on her hip, or an Iron Man reactor?

It says that in the Cerberus Codex entry too:
Immediately following the First Contact War, an anonymous extranet manifesto warned that an alien attempt at human genocide was inevitable. The manifesto called for an army - a Cerberus to guard against invasion through the Charon relay.
Derided as "survivalist rhetoric written by an illusive man", the manifesto and its anonymous author soon fell off the media radar. But in 2165, terrorists stole antimatter from the SSV Geneva, the sole figure arrested named his sponsor "Cerberus". Throughout the 2160s and 2170s, alleged Cerberus agents assassinated politicians, sabotaged starships bearing eezo, and conducted nightmarish experiments on aliens and humans. Denounced as human-supremacist, Cerberus calls itself human-survivalist.
Counterterror experts speculate Cerberus may have changed leadership with it recent shift to stockpiling ships, agents, and weapons. Whether "he", "she", or "they", the Illusive Man hides his finances behind shell companies. Few doubt he will kill anyone attempting to expose him.

Not just any turian either, that looks like Saren! He was the only one with the long side parts on his head fringe. It could be Saren's brother though, the unique headfringe might be a family trait.
I thought it was Saren vs Anderson at the colony? So if it's Saren, which I agree it does look like, then where is Anderson?

1. How on earth are the humans and turians understanding each other? The opening paragraph suggests that this is taking place during the First Contact War, which means that the two species have only JUST met. There wouldn't be time for the translator devices to be uploaded with proper languages translations from both races. For that matter, how do they even know what each other's race is called??
2. The guns seem to be firing laser beams... A bit offputting, but it could be chalked up to people using incendiary ammo, I guess. You get a similar looking effect in ME2.
3. Anybody else noticed that the turian they captured has two extra fringes on his skull? Similar to Saren's? I wonder if that IS Saren... Or whether it's simply another turian with the same physical appearance.
