I think bioware is foolish to abandon the old school style rpg's. Instead of capitalizing on what was in origins and making it better, they seem to be going in a totally different direction. Honestly why should I give a rats ass about hawke, I want my character to be the hero.
If there was any smart game companys out there, they should take advantage that bioware is dropping the old school rpg. There are so many ways you could improve upon origins and make it and even better game, its kinda sad
The fail is strong in this one.

I was half-way through the game before I realised this; and that was by process of elimination, after several hours earlier having noticed that the splash effects varied and I had the crazy notion that maybe those splash effects meant something. Visuals can never substitute a combat log. I will be a happy panda the day developers go back to using combat logs (I fully expect to remain a sad panda for years to come).PsychoBlonde wrote...

By definition, an opinion cannot be incorrect. They are frequently very misinformed, however.Upsettingshorts wrote...

Very easily. It's pretty common, actually.

you would if you made that question a few billion years earlier.

Color is just a bias formed of limited perception, The sun is just as much blue as it is anything else, so technically, yes you are.

Because every game forces you to be the same hero as everybody else on this board?

You are distorting facts somewhat. The light emitted by the sun falls within a certain colour spectrum. That colour spectrum can be named, whether or not you are physically able to perceive it.relhart wrote...

Well technically, the sun is not as much blue as it is anything else. Hot Black Body radiation models the light coming from the sun pretty well and it's intensity vs. wavelength peaks in the yellow range (forget the exact wavelength) and weakens in intensity to both sides of that peak wavelength point. But now I'm trying to fight opnions with science and I'm allergic to fire while tied to a wooden post.

Then be who you want to be. No one is stopping you, and if you honestly think that because your last name is Hawke you automatically are the same everyone else, that's already flawed. You mean to say your Amell, Cousland, or so on and forth isn't the same to all the others on the board?Cobrawar wrote...

I don't know about you, but I'm the real Cousland.
All the rest of you are Time Paradox copies and are doomed. DOOMED! I even have the proof, this board is registering in the giga-doom particles.
(sorry, watched some Futurama last night).

Fixed.
If you really have this much trouble making basic deductions, maybe you should stick with text-based games. Me, I'd rather have the visual/auditory clues because I can't read 10 lines of text in a quarter of a second.
Maybe they should just have a pop-up that yells "YOU'RE TAKING SPIRIT DAMAGE BOZO!!!"

Aside from the limited racial origins - as you mention - creation has been (slightly) expanded, not limited.

Iso view is replaced with something else, though I can understand why some might hate it.
Origins are replaced with a more personal plot.
What do you mean limited creation?
There are tradeoffs for everything, both positive and negative.

I also tend to agree, but realistically, little will change this close to launch. At this point, they're probably just polishing up, and they're clearly very happy with their new direction and style. This is something that we just have to accept. We can count on the story being good, though, and who knows? Maybe DA3 will be just as different and in a way that those of us who find this direction unfortunate will find pleasing. Crazier things have happened, and they're not afraid of drastic change from game to game.relhart wrote...
I agree with most of what you say, expect to be heavily flamed around these parts for sharing your opinion though.
