You can now purchase Orsini's mage robe and three dragon headed staff at the avatar marketplace.  Who is this?

I bet it's "Anders."

It would make sense. I think it would be very cool to see Anders pretending to be someone else. Or was he pretending to be Anders in Awakening? hmmmmmmmmm

A thousand curses to those who have improperly used irony quotes. When I say "Anders," I am not talking about Anders.

Also, bit of fuel for the "not a companion" fire: The Arishok and Flemeth gear are gender specific, while Orsini's are not.

Wildly stabbing, I'd go for something that mage Hawke gains access to at some point.

edit: to and too, dammit, seems to be a blind spot of mine right now.

Maria, do you just mean the german word for strange? I'm not sure what your magical quotes mean :(

"Anders" is the assumed identity of the unidentified mage in a screenshot showing members of DA2's party.

Hmm, I have to admit, some of the those avatar items look neat. I wouldn't pay 2 bucks for them though.

Maybe it's just me, but a three headed dragon staff screams "I'm an Apostate!". Too awesome to be a Circle Mage, surely.

Irony quotes are used around a word or phrase with a meaning you find dubious or are opposed to.

Adam went to see his doctor. <- Sincere
Adam went to see his "doctor." <- Adam is not seeing a doctor, but someone else has claimed this. Adam might have lied about seeing his doctor. Or the person might call themselves a doctor and I think they're a fraud.

A number of people have said the mage in the screenshot looks like Anders, but I disagree with that assessment so I call him "Anders."

My 2 pence. Orsino is Daddy!Hawke. That staff screams "I'm too cool to be a circle mage!" and seeing as you could download Duncan's armor on XBL. That's my bet, now watch as I am mocked by a Dev for getting to so very wrong.

I think
that I may found something interesting considering this Orsino character. Or
about his stave at least look at this picture-  jpeg.im/3lr I think that the stave in the elf hands
is  identical  to Xbox one.

Another plus, by the looks of it the female version doesn't have the silly cleavage window this time.

The woman in that screenshot is also this one.

Orosino = the mage faction?

Woman = the templar faction?

That's not a bad idea. We know that there's going to be Templars vs Mages at some point. Orosino being a leader of Mages would explain more on how Kirkwall gets into such a mess. Flemeth with her army probably making it into a cluster****.

If that's the case, he might be a Libertarian. Maybe Maleficarum?

mmm, DA2 continues to be the apostate origin that DAO never gave me. I think it would be very cool to choose between these factions. Personally, I would opt for mage autonomy.

I'd agree with Libertarian, Wynne's dialogue says they are planning on leaving the Chantry and the dialogue afterward (with Anders in the party) seems to suggest that's a very bad idea. Wouldn't surprise me if they led to a war.

Is it an NPC reveal, or are people reading too much into it?

No one can think of a weapon or armor from DA:O that had a name, yet you never met the person who it was named after?

Still, maybe it is. Keep guessing. :)

None of them were made into Avatar items.

King Cailan's armor, Duncan's armor, ect were all people we met. :P

Well, having a staff and robe combination is pretty heavy. Most avatar items for XBox are linked the recognizable items, unless they're something generic like "Gears of War gun".

You know, I really like that the Seeker armor is different depending on the gender.

Speculation over any scrap of information, or anything that seems like information, is what we do. It's the BioBoard's pastime!

It actually isn't, it looks like the female one on Xbox live too. The website just screwed up and shows the Hurlock armor twice.

The lack of Varric attire is dissapointing.
