I download this dlc from the ultimate edition, is it possible to transfer the data from this dlc to the origins story? If not, I just lost about 3 hours of gameplay

I recently downloaded the return to ostagar from the ultimate edition, I played on my only saved file (post archdemon) and overwrote it. The return to ostagar file isnt transferable to the dragon age origins right?

Post archdemon? Not sure if you know this but there is no continuation within the Origins campaign after you kill the Archdemon. You have the coronation, then talk to people and exit through the double doors, and credits roll. The end, no way to do anything else. So that statement makes no sense whatsoever. You can't kill the archdemon, save after, then go back to that save and go do Return to Ostagar. Heck you can't even do Return to Ostagar after you activate the final battle at Denerim quest. Or anything else for that matter.



Return to Ostagar is NOT a separate campaign like LS, DSC, GoA, or WH. It's an extra quest line that exists within the original Origins campaign. Same with Warden's Keep.



Your question doesn't make sense at all because of these facts. Please explain in a bit more detail.

When you kill the archdemon, shortly after is an autosave. This is the epilogue. The game "warps" you back in time to before you killed the archdemon, it is still registered as dead but you can still quest, hunt darkspawn and play dlc when you finish, the only difference being that the archdemon is dead, but the people don't acknowledge this.



I only had 1 file registered after this point. I recently acquired the ultimate edition, and downloaded return to ostagar. I saved over the only file I had saved post coronation. My question is how (if possible) can I return to the main dragon age origins game after completing return to ostagar, because I am denied access to any locations on the main map after starting the dlc return to ostagar.



If I'm guessing right, which I think I am, the data from return to ostagar isnt transferable back into the main awakening storyline, right?

 I also have the ultimate edition although I installed return to Ostagar it is not showing up in the game menu.

Once you complete Origins you have the option to complete the DLC from the camp. Bring up the map and this will allow you to go to the DLC locations. Once you have completed the Game once and the DLC any DLC items are usable in all future play throughs. Also when you start a new game some of the DLC will be playable from ingame and the rest you have to import or start a new game for Awakening/Witch Hunt/ Golems.



The DLC items from RTO origins do not transfer to Awakenings.

If you've downloaded the DLCs they are available in game. You have to go to some Bann's land and meet with the King's guard. I haven't played it after coronation since I was always after some items that can be useful for inflicting damage against the darkspawn.

I apologize. I had never actually tried to load the epilogue save before. Interesting. 

Anyway. The reason you can not go to any locations in the main map is because, like Orzammarr, you have to go out through the exit, meaning the place where you originally entered from. You can not go out through the map. Same thing occurs in Orzammar. 

But this data should still transfer into Awakening. But any special items you obtain from Return to Ostagar will NOT transfer.

I'm having a similiar problem, I have a post-coronation auto-save yet once the epilogue/end credits are done there isn't another save made (and auto-save is on).  Therefore I can't return to camp and cannot start Return to Ostagar without restarting the game from scratch.  EA couldn't resolve this issue so I'm here.
